Hello, can anyone explain why it's so difficult to find pad printed white letter tires anymore? Thanks, Geno.

They're still in a bunch of current AMT and MPC kits. You just have to know which ones.

68 Camaro and 71 Mustang (yellow car on box) come to mind, most likely others too.

Thanks Pat, I remember when you used to be able to get them in parts packs but it seems those have disappeared. All I can find is the Firestone Supremes. Do water slide decals look good on rubber tires? Thanks.

The Goodyears are pretty much gone. Some of the kits that have them don't have the size markings on them.  I just posted in another thread, the other day, that I would like to see R2 re-release the Polyglas tires parts packs. I love those tires. I used waterslide decals from Fireball on these tires. You can't see the film, at all. They worked great! These were taken before any flat coat or weathering. I sanded the sidewalls smooth, then applied a coat or two of Future. I applied the decals over that.

Does Fireball still exist, I've reached out to Joe several times but get no response.

This is what it says on his site:

UPDATE   AUGUST 8, 2022
Sorry for the long periods between updates!  Business has been great, and I really appreciate all my customers.  I've had a rough patch recently (thanks, COVID) that has caused a little backlog on shipping out orders, but if you have an open order with me it will be shipping soon.  I'll also be formally introducing several new items soon.  I know I said that a few months ago, but this time I mean it.

Yes, Joseph is definitely getting caught up with everything, he will eventually get back to you. Also, for what it's worth, Speedway Decals (www.speedwaydecals.com) also has a line of tire lettering decals.

Afte about a year of dealing with Joseph, I have learned to give him a really long time to get back to me every time I email him. He's a 1-man operation, so things take a bit more time with his company.

And everything he makes is worth the wait!

Now that I see the original post that started this, I would also like to know why it is so hard to find these pad printed (tampo) tires anymore.

Have no clue why they don't start re-issuing this tire kit and the Firestone Wide Oval one. You would think this would be a no brainer.  ?????????????????????

I agree, when I go to shows there's a guy there that sells different tire packs and I hear folks ask him frequently when he may have the WLT back in stock.

I've done the same Raoul with the same results. I have emailed Round 2 about re-releasing these. Maybe if others can do the same it'll let them know there is interest for them.?
