I'll be starting this in a few days after I finish the Chevy pickup I'm working on. But I'm going to go ahead and paint it using a new to me primer to see if I can improve my paint jobs. I think the Rustoleum primer I've been using is causing a rough finish to my paint coat and it's coming out not as glossy as I would like. Never tried this Mr. Hobby stuff, so hope it does ok. Going with Tamiya X-7 red.

Changing primer and getting some advice from a forum member (zippi) on shooting this Tamiya acrylics has helped. Paint looks much better than what I've been seeing. I'm satisfied with it. My wife wanted me to build a red Mustang, and it will certainly be red.

These are the tires and wheels I want to use if I can make them work.

What are the tires from? To get the front that low will require some front end work....

Alex is right on the rework of the front end. It's not a terrible task but it requires moving the spindles up and the tires inward some. I just got finished with AMT's 67 GT Fastback kit and these kits all have the "tail low-front end high" look.

You did a great job of painting the body and foiling it. Awesome stuff man.

Actually the front tires are from the kit and I don't plan to lower it, I was just showing the wheels I want to use. The rear tires are some from my parts box and are a bit taller and wider than the kit tires and I'm going to try to get them to work under the rear.

Thanks. I don't plan on lowering the front, just showing the wheels I want to use. The rear tires I want to use are a little taller and wider than the kit tires, so I may need to do a little work to make them fit. I like the back to be a little higher than the front.

I raised mine slightly in the rear and it only took a little re-arching of the springs and I was pretty much set. Looking forward to more on this beauty.
