Slotto Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Another kit that's been on the shelf for far too long. I picked this up over 20 years ago thinking it was something me and my daughter could build. We never got around to it. After kicking around a few ideas, I came up with something I never tried before. Weathering. first, I had to get the trim off but I wanted to make it look like it was there and removed for another project car. so first I marked where the mounting holes on the panel would be, then chucked up a straight pin in the pin vise and then applied some heat. Then pushed the pin thru the trim. next I sanded off the trim revealing the hole. I did this to both sides. It took a couple of hours but was very satisfying. today I added 2 coats of primer brown. espo Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 I like the way you did the trim holes in the body. I have one of these that I have threatened to build for years so I'll be interested in seeing what all you do with this. 1
Kenmojr Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 The the direction you are taking this 53 Chevy. My Dad owned a two door 53 Chevy when I was a lad. I think the 1953 & 54 Chevys are just as cool as the tri-5 Chevys.... 1

bisc63 Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 Can't tell it from the pics! I love the CHEVROLET detail across the cap.
Slotto Posted August 19, 2022 Author Posted August 19, 2022 Sprayed the roof and sanded with 500. Also painted the head liner. Chassis partially detailed Busted up the one piece interior so I can detail the door cards and flock the floor Stay Tuned... 2
Slotto Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 I couldn't help myself. Once I started putting on the bling, I couldn't stop. Stay Tuned... 2
Slotto Posted August 22, 2022 Author Posted August 22, 2022 Got the interior painted and am having second thought about the wheels. While I really like the big balloons, I'm now leaning towards something else... stay tuned... 1
dino246gt Posted August 22, 2022 Posted August 22, 2022 Those chrome reversed rims on whitewalls look so cool on that Chevy! 1
