Ultra fine detail

I think some of the work I do is quite detailed and I know some of you on here do extremely fine detailing. Then I see stuff like this carved out of a pencil lead and it blows me away.?

I can't write with a #2 pencil without breaking the point, how in the did you do this.

Saw the choo-choo example years back, entertaining hobby. "Lead" is actually graphite, of course, soft stuff. I'm tempted to try it myself, but I should finish some plastic model car projects, first ......

It’s just a picture I found on the internet. I have neither the patience or the skill to do something like this. I imagine they carve one or two letters at a time and then carve the wood back to expose more lead. The train is really neat!
