NOBLNG Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) I think some of the work I do is quite detailed and I know some of you on here do extremely fine detailing. Then I see stuff like this carved out of a pencil lead and it blows me away.? Edited August 27, 2022 by NOBLNG
espo Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 I can't write with a #2 pencil without breaking the point, how in the did you do this.
NYLIBUD Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Might be a stupid question, does that say something,or is it sort of a chain?Whatever it is,it’s amazing.
Doug 1061 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Impressive. That is someone with too much time on his/her hands. I wonder how many tries it took to get it.
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Google carved pencil laid art. There are some stunning things out there.

Russell C Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 https://theminitimemachine.org/exhibitions/on-point-sculptures-on-the-tips-of-lead-pencils/ Saw the choo-choo example years back, entertaining hobby. "Lead" is actually graphite, of course, soft stuff. I'm tempted to try it myself, but I should finish some plastic model car projects, first ......

It’s just a picture I found on the internet. I have neither the patience or the skill to do something like this. I imagine they carve one or two letters at a time and then carve the wood back to expose more lead. The train is really neat!
bobthehobbyguy Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Absolutely amazing. The skill and patience displayed is mind boggling.
