Slotto Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 (edited) This is the one that got me back into the hobby back in 2017 after a looooong hiatus. Original build can be found here. After the build I was quite happy with it except the way the wheels and tires looked. They wobbled due to the bad design and the tires looked like balloons. That's why she sacrificed her frame for the Chrysler Turbine. So, I thought it was time for a freshen up. For the redo, I plan for a wheel swap, articulating front wheels, engine and compartment details, flocking, disc brakes and of course a new frame. Some of the engine modifications are displayed here, carpet is complete and firewall well underway. Stay Tuned again... Edited October 7, 2022 by Slotto Spelling errors and link added 1
XYHARRY Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 I love rebuilds and will be following yours. I linked and think your original build looked nice. Those pegasus wheels will look cool on this. Cheers, David. ?? 1

Slotto Posted October 8, 2022 Author Posted October 8, 2022 Gettin stuff done! Today I started and finished the disc brakes. i grabbed my 3/8 id flat washers and cut some scrap plastic bits to make up the calipers next i placed small pieces to hug the lip of the rotor. then glued some offset scraps to the back side of each wheel lastly i painted up the calipers and glued the disc brake assembly to the spacer blocks. then onto the motor. I assembled a distributor from jewelry making materials and wire and threw that on. Brown? Why not! ? and of course the pulley idea. Stole that from another member here. Then i went after the body gaps. I've always ignored this but it's so easy to do and makes quite a difference especially on light colored cars. I use water based acrylic craft paint for most things now. Here is flat black liberally applied to fill the gap. Wait a few minutes then go after it with a damp q-tip. I like to gently rub perpendicular to the line. To me, this adds so much. That's all for now. Stay Tuned... 1
Slotto Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 The firewall is just about completed. I wanted to show the heater hose installation. There was already an opening for the heater hose, I just had to expand it a bit. Here I'm using the leads from an old pair of earbuds. I cut a suitable length and poke it thru the hole. Then make a knot on the back side and glue it in place. curiosity got the better of me and I had to see what the motor looked like tucked in the hole. It's coming along. Stay Tuned... 2
