Hello all.

I'm doing a 1970 bee at present.

The inspiration comes from a neighborhood car a friend owned when we were in high school. Late 80’s.

it’s getting Centerline auto drags, a cage, a pitchfork hood, and a 440/4BBL. (Having a hard time locating the intake)

this is the body, so far. Initial cut and polish. It’s B5 blue from MCW.

Kinda nice to see a Mopar muscle car that's not a "high impact" color. This should look very nice indeed!

Nice WM23V0 there! The B5 appears to be the GB5 (1971-1973) as opposed to EB5 (1969-1970) -- maybe the lighting? Regardless, it's one of me favourite blue metallics, next to EB7/GB7.

It does appear dark. I was a bit bummed about that. It looks more like EB7.
unfortunately, this is what MCW calls 1969-1970 B5 blue. ☹️
I’ve used Scale finishes B5, and while the shade is more correct, the metal flake is way out of scale.

I’m not doing a V code as far as multi carbs go. I’m using an RB engine with a single Holley 3310 from Fireball model works. This car is an effort to emulate a high school friend’s car.

anyhow, I’ll keep this thread updated as I go.

thanks for the interest.

I was going to order B5 from them for a 70 Roadrunner Monogram  because the B5 from Scale finishes also looks a bit light compared to the 1:1.  That B5 looks pretty dark like B7 as someone else said.  Great job on the paint though!

There are at least three (maybe more) unique B5 blues:
EB5 (1969-1970)
GB5 (1971-1973)
KB5 (1974-1975)
MB5 (1976-197?)

Here's a paint chips' list, direct from the horse's mouth -- navigate as you see fit (covers up to 1979) :

I decided to try some acrylic paints and some “dry brushing” to weather the bottom and engine compartment.

I’m attempting to replicate a nice driver type car8E3E935A-9C24-4E32-AC4C-ECC81EC321DA.thumb.jpeg.ea5e3a70b7d0febda2425cbc90b0b2da.jpeg8F11F7A9-850E-40DF-A311-2006346C74BC.thumb.jpeg.3bfa02120bac2fb1b2f3b9737e5489ab.jpegD2ADFCD1-2CD2-490C-A173-B1DB183F4C14.thumb.jpeg.68763d4d3f1203f11e8acccf46e558f4.jpeg450E89B5-38EE-48EB-A402-6CC6899AA952.thumb.jpeg.4242c5a8cf497271bdec31113a2e3d19.jpeg

Not trying to hijack thread, but here is the GB5 True blue that I was going to use to recreate the 72 Duster 340 I had
