juergen Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 hi guys ! for the wait time untill the paint from the charger can be sanded i think about the next project. i will built a 55 chevy mild custom version. it get´s a little bit downforce;-) and a little cleaning. for the wheels i must looking. the second are from a 49 mercury and looks not bad i think greets Jürgen
cruz Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I'm a big Rally fan, go with them!!!! Nice stance too!!!!!
RodBurNeR Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I guess it depends on the era you want to capture in the mild custom. If you want to go old school, steelies are best choice. If you want to go for an 80s (just example) look, then the rally wheels be just right. Then again, late 60s too but they were not a common love in them days.
58 Impala Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Musclecar look I'd use the rallyes, for the custom look definitely the chrome steelies.
gilsdropshop1 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 love them both but i would go with the rally's
Bryce Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Awesome - can't wait to see what you come up with for this one. The second option need some whitewalls to really set them off. And red lines on the first option.
juergen Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 hi guys !!! thank you for your nice and constructiv postings. it´s good for me to get our feedback and the meaning from your great builders. after working through the night;-) the paint shop is done. i painted with tamiya colors and 2 compound clear coat from automotive industrie. after drying i will sanded and polishing and than it got bmf. i found steelies and i think they would be looking good for a old school look? after drying i will show you a foto about the stance and the look with the steelies. greets jürgen
Bryce Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Looking great already - love the colour and wheel choice.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Oooh, I love those colors. Great job on the paint. This one is coming along, chap. Keep it going.
Custom Hearse Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 That is really cool! I like the steelies too. I think they'll be perfect on it! Looking forward to your next update on both the Charger and the '55!
Joe Handley Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 You have to run Moons or Baby Moons on a car like that, Rallye's just look wrong on a Tri-5 Chevy to begin with and would be even worse on this one.
juergen Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 hi guys ! now i can show you the body with the steelies. what do you mean about the stance and the style? i think it´s ok or not? greets jürgen
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Looking just great ! Keep it up, man. later,
58 Impala Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Baby Moons and whitewalls will look great with that nice 2 tone paint.
E St. Kruiser50 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 'jurgen' This is lookin' great . The colors and finish are beautiful. You do very nice work. Can't wait to see more progress - dave
87 Grand Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 either way you do it, it is going to look fantastic since it looks like your a master at painting. that blue paint with the light hitting on it is just stunning. i like where your going with this build. keep us posted.
Classic Plastic Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Nice color combination and wheel choice!Great work!! The stance is perfect. May I ask where you picked up the rims and moon caps? Think I may have to pick up a 55 of my own.
atenzapower Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Some whit walls so do the trick.Keep it coming.
george 53 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Lookin Good Jurg! Hey Guys, aint he about a great painter? You know, He's only been back to building for a little while. We've been corresponding, and He's told me alot about himself. He really is a cool guy and He's got the look down perfectly, dontch think? Great job Jurg, An I know it'll be KILLER when it's done!
juergen Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 hi guys !!! a lot of thanks to your so nice comments. this is a very great motivation for me. @classic plastic: the wheels (moons and rims) are from the amt 51 chevy fleetline. the decals of the white rims are from a revell impala lowrider. @george53: thank you for your very nice compliment to my staff, like so much makes me very embarrassed greets jürgen
