happy grumpy Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 A very quick build, the body is molded in a very nice shiny grey metallic, so nice that I left it as is, I only put on the decals, painted the interior and voila, a few hours and a really nice looking cruiser. If you want to draw people in the hobby, this is a perfect kit for it, ideal for a beginner. thanks for looking. 4
NYLIBUD Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 (edited) Great job!!!And please know that i certainly don’t want to take away from your pics of your excellent police car model. But as i’ve said it before,I love police cars and have hundreds of police cars in diecast, and plastic,in all different scales. And also,I’ve posted before that I currently own a black unmarked 09 CV detectives car.Great car, built like a tank. Here’s a few pics of some police cars, including my black CV,some diecasts, and an exact replica of an Adam 12 car that was at a fall car show this past Sunday. The guy took second place in the special interest class. But again, your build looks really good.???? Thanks Ron, you have some cool models there,
Slotto Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Outstanding! What a great shine. You say that's straight from the box? No clear?
GLMFAA1 Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Nice build of the OTB 'hoopie'. The kit had many wrong things that could have been easily fixed. Here is a picture of the anniversary OSP car I built using Art Anderson's All American casting way back when. In 1993 OSP used Aerosonic light bars and was transitioning to Whelan light bars. The rub rail was removed from the front doors, push bumper was small and siren on roof in light bar. Communications was still low band radio and LEARN UHF. The interior color was maroon with gray front seat covers. I guess the buckeyes would notice the flying tires faces forward. I had friends who were OSP officers who got OSP models from me. In the backround is the Tamiya Jeep Cherokee which was also used by OSP. You could make OSP vehicles a full time hobby with all the vehicles they have used. greg

Yep, no paint on this one, no clear, the plastic is super shinny. 8 minutes ago, GLMFAA1 said: Nice build of the OTB 'hoopie'. The kit had many wrong things that could have been easily fixed. I built mine straight out of the box. I did not do any research on it but thanks for the info.
70 Sting Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 I like police cars… as long as they’re not in my rear view mirror. Another nice build Grumpy. Would you say you complete one model per month?

Would you say you complete one model per month? Thanks Harry. I build in an assembly line kind of way. I prep bodies, I always have at least three models at different building stages. So I can sometimes finish 3 models in a short time but these were started a while ago. I would guess maybe 2 to 3 models a month. I split my time between work, (not retired yet), repairing computers and models. I am alone now so I have all my free time for myself. With all that's happening in the world, I find this free time, all by myself, in the relative safety at home, a blessing and very precious. cheers.
Zippi Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Pretty kewl looking Crown Vic. That body color looks really nice for straight out of the box. Nice quick build Mario.
espo Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Great looking OOB build. Amazing how nice they can be with very clean assembly.

A nice break from complex kits and stalled projects.

I know some are easily distracted (squirrel) with many started and unfinished kits while others have a ‘shelf of doom.’ 99% of the time I start one kit and stay with it until completion. Your method appears to maximize bench time. Your last two sentences really resonated with me… hoping you are not alone under unfortunate circumstances. Covid and it’s affect on work/life balance has been an eye-opener that has made me… well, you said best above. ?
