A few songs we used to cover back when I was in bands years ago.

I listened to the Hair of the Dog album constantly when I was kid cruising main.

I’m certain that I know every lyric to every song on that album! ?

Oh man i gotta give an honorable mention to a few more great songs I forgot about.First one is Alice in Chains,”[The]..Rooster”,and then Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper”,followed by Kiss’s “She”,& “Parasite”.It’s funny,I don’t recall anybody mention any of Kiss’s songs.Great band, saw them twice.

1965 Watts (Los Angeles) Riots inspired this

One of my favourite Crosby songs:

Spoken word piece recited by John Cale over a previously discarded instrumental titled Booker T. :

Rolling Stones. I missed the best years of the Stones. By the time I saw them live was way back in 1981 at JFK stadium. The Tatoo You Tour (awful) It was the first concert my parents let me go to with my friends. We basically smoked a lot of awful weed, managed to somehow get some alcohol and tried to act like we were cool but were really still a bunch of kids. Thes 3 songs are the era of the Stones I like the most.

Replacements. I could sit for hours and talk about the Replacements and the many songs that I feel are their best. If I could point to one band that made me want to start playing my own music, it would have to be them. Here are a few off the top of my head.

Uh, the task was to name your 3 all time favorite "songs", not your 3 favorite bands. ;)

If we were talking about favorite bands, the 3 songs that I listed at the start of this thread wouldn't even rank in my top 20!

I find it Imposible to narrow it down to just three. There is too much great music playing in my head at all times. ?

Yea the Rolling Stones (Monkey Man),is a great song.I have to say,it’s probably my favorite Stones song.I also gotta add a song from Pat Benatar,”Hell is for Children”..Always thought it was a great powerful song. And congrats to Pat Benatar,as she was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month, along with Judas Priest.I saw both back in the 80s.

One of the earliest 'Pop' songs to employ the then-new Moog synthesiser (along with Star Collector on the same album). The mono edit sounds better, but this video from the TV programme is too good to not post:

Also on Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, LTD is this "conspicuous" song whose topic is greatly overlooked due to its delightful musical accompaniment. Anita Mann (sounds like a nom de arte to me, but that's her true name) having fun with Davy Jones:

And one more from "...& Jones, LTD
