JollySipper Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 Moe. is a good band, Bill........ Here's a link to their wikipedia! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moe_(band) Most of their music is jam-based, I know that's not everyone's cup o' tea.......... You do know what a 'jazz cigarette is, I trust? 2
JollySipper Posted April 1, 2024 Author Posted April 1, 2024 For all you bass players/fans! This is just Claypool jamming with a drummer, that's it........ 2
1972coronet Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 An "incomplete" recording ; a studio instrumental from Summer or Autumn 1967. Chris Hillman took the song to Manassas who recorded a slower-tempo, vocals-included version for their 1972 self-titled album. I'm keen on this up-tempo take - too bad that it never received a vocal treatment.
1972coronet Posted April 1, 2024 Posted April 1, 2024 Another gem from the Notorious sessions of mid-late 1967. This is Mc Guinn fooling around with the then-new Moog synthesiser - a 9,000$ instrument ! The Moog was used extensively on Notorious (and to a lesser extent on other Byrds albums) - one of the first "Pop" (Rock) albums to feature the instrument ( The Monkees Pieces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. was released in November 1967, beating the Byrds album by a couple of months ). Without further ado :
JollySipper Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 Here is a most Excellent free based jazz group that I just today learned of! They're called Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey....... This is recorded live..........
JollySipper Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Just learned about THIS band today............... Gotta love Napster!
Richard Bartrop Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Because you can never go wrong with Dick Dale. I've been enjoying Tokyo Vice a lot, especially the soundtrack.
Bugatti Fan Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Some of the haunting theme music from the Titanic film.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Quite possibly my all time favorite instrumental track. With the right girl at sunset... 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 I'm listening to a lot of various flavors of "vaporwave" lately. All these tracks are good n' funky through decent big speakers, loud...
JollySipper Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Budos Band.......... Neo-soul group that always has a good groove. 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Heard one on the radio the other day, Frankenstein by the Edgar Winter Group, 1973, I believe. The part near the end blew my actual mind with those electric sounds as the way they came through the speakers of the truck was crazy; unlike anything i've ever heard before, around 3:18 it starts, sounds kinda like some space ship thing. The sax part is pretty groovy too. 2
Falcon Ranchero Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I should also add another 1973 hit, Hocus Pocus, by the band, Focus. Mostly instrumental except for the obscure yodeling and other human sounds, but in that sense the human voice is used instrumentally, i.e. no words, just sounds. Pretty crazy yodeling though. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Just kinda rediscovered this guy...great for driving up the PCH at sunset.
