junkyardjeff Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Might not need to buy a new kit for many years. 1
Joe Nunes Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Great find. I would be like a kid in a candy store if I had found that collection. Dust be danged! Full speed ahead! ??? Joe
1930fordpickup Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Jeff that looks like you have a nice winter project sorting out parts and bodies. Head down to Hobby Lobby and get some of the different size bags they sell by the Jewelry.
junkyardjeff Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 I just could not pass this up,I was hoping there was a rear bumper for a 65 Wildcat in there but have found bumpers for a 58 and 59 Pontiacs and 60 and 62 F 100s that I will need to find to put those parts on. 1
Phirewriter Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Nice find! There's a group on Facebook called Scale Survivors. It's run by Dave Darby, who is a member here. It's an excellent group and I'm sure they would appreciate photos of much of what you posted. Looks like lots of really cool stuff there. 1
paul alflen Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 My mouth is watering! Look at all those strippable bodies for the purple pond! Nice find/ buy Jeff, enjoy!
junkyardjeff Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 I got it home and I think he sold some after the picture was taken and before I seen it as there is not as many cars in the boxes as shown in the pictures, the cars were boxed up when I went to see it but got plenty of parts.
junkyardjeff Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 There is not much I would even thinking about building,it looks like some 10 year old got ahold of them and they are a mess but I could save a Chevy II convertible,63 Riviera, two Corvairs plus there is a complete 58 Pontiac but its rough. There is a couple of those early Monogram 32 Ford coupes and one is very nice and all the Monogram dragsters are decent, most of the AMT stuff is basicly for parts but some could be saved but will not be me. All the parts will help me for years and might have some trading material or find incomplete models to use those parts on,its not as good of a deal as I was hoping but not a waste of money either.
junkyardjeff Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 The more I think about it the deal was not to bad,I still need to go through all the parts to see if the rest of the parts are there for the bodies.
junkyardjeff Posted February 1, 2023 Author Posted February 1, 2023 I think most are not worth messing with, alot we're put together without a chassis and wheels glued in place with parts from the trees or the axles some how glued in and most are common AMTs. Going to remove the usable parts and throw the bodies in a box or give away, just not worth spending any money on to save when it can still be bought.
