I made this as a replica of a truck I owned years ago.  I bought it from my best friend Paul, used it as my every day for a few years and then gave it to my son when he started driving.

The cab is an MPC '78 long bed on a Little Red Express chassis with a resin short bed.  I've added side moldings and some minor engine detailing. It took three paint jobs to find the right puppy red color for the top half. The wheels are from a Mobius ford kit and match the Mohawk chrome ones on the real truck.

It was a fun build and brings back many good memories. Hope you like it. 20230128_150917.thumb.jpg.855f6b21237ce5cbf69b3762edaef23e.jpg20230128_151011.thumb.jpg.744f46c27ec3ca519d9b77b73f9a6139.jpg20230128_150829.thumb.jpg.ad80f8e6827c5a6a34508e95b69920b3.jpg20230128_151108.thumb.jpg.89b68b4b3017a337a4053c89151f99f4.jpg20230128_150929.thumb.jpg.4a963fce47992cd731edd650cd22138e.jpg

Very nice.  I was a kid when the '72 came out, thought the wrap around taillights were cool.  Then dad got a used '72 Long Bed, I remember a 100 on the side.

Great looking build. Must have been a great truck to pass it on to your son. Always enjoy building a model of past vehicles, like you said it's about the memories they bring back.
