65slotcar
With a few dozen other projects in the works, i couldn't keep my hands off this one. So far i find the larger scale MFH kits much more fun to work on and easier to handle the larger parts. decals by 3 amigos. started with sand blasting some parts for a natural look and some polish to valve covers for a chrome look.
65slotcar
i polished the turkey pan at first, but gave it a sanding with 400 grit to dull it out. may have to paint for original look.

Pierre Rivard
Indeed very cool. So far the engine and frame elements shown look spectacular. How hard is it to polish the metal parts? Can you share on your products & methods? The results are so nice.

For all the small parts that are not really flat i use a magnetic tumbler. Bill 1
65slotcar
this kit calls for a lot of semi gloss black .
David G.
It looks right to me. Nice looking metal finishes too. David G.
65slotcar
thanks David. So the kit comes black rubber looking fuel hoses. Wanted to stay away from any braided steel hoses and went with a hard line. The turkey pan makes this a bit of a challenge.
David G.
Clean work on the lines! Even the carburetor looks like it's impressed! David G.
Pierre Rivard
I've tried to run a hard fuel line and came up with bends where I wanted straights. Much harder than it looks. Well done Bill.
bytownshaker
William the hard lines turned out great, it took 4 tries to do the one from the fuel pump to the fuel regulator on my 1 to 1 engine.
65slotcar
thanks for the positive feedback. a little progress with carb. maybe not a new trick to most, but it was new for me. screwed metal rotor to my dremel and gave it a spin with a file for a used rotor look.
