Testors Clear Parts Cement Dries Blue?

I recently built a 1991 Lumina as a Dale Earnhardt to use as a hard boy slot car. I used Testors Clear Parts Cement a little over a day ago to attach the windshields. In real life as well as on the bottle, it says it dries clear. While parts of the Testors clear parts cement did dry clear a large portion dried blue! It was yellow when I applied after an hour a large portion dried clear but that portion dried blue. A little over 24 hours later, it's still the same. Does it sometimes just take a few days to turn completely clear or could color weather have effected it or perhaps I just got a bad batch?

These PVA glues all dry by evaporation, so where air can't get to them, like if they're trapped between parts that fit tight, drying will take longer.

AND...frankly, I don't like the Testors PVA glue.

I've used this stuff since 2012, and it's never let me down.

Kristal Klear is the absolute best. I use it for mounting parts to craft sticks for painting, assembly of chrome and clear parts, attaching rear view mirrors and painted body parts and making glass for gauges. The Testors PVA you used will eventually dry clear. Less is often more when using this type of glue... a smaller amount will dry faster and still hold plenty strong.

I use the Testors glue but agree that you don't need much. Pretty sure in the photo you posted, the glue just isn't dry yet.

It's been almost 36 hours and it still looks like that. I guess it's still drying?

It takes a long time to dry.

Glued in headlights on a Bronco kit with Testors canopy glue, the fit was tight. 5 days and still white glue behind the lenses. Had to drill a hole in the back of the bucket to allow air in. Still took another day to dry. Give it a few more days.

Ya but to look at the photo it simply doesn't even look dry. It will go clear when it is dry. But that bead could be 1/4 as much, the glue holds well but to dry air has to get at it which will eventually happen.

If it is milky color is is not dry.  If those areas are airtight, the glue trapped in there might never dry (or take months).  5-minute epoxy hardens by chemical reaction, so it would be better to use in this situation. But it also turns amber after few years.  Epoxy and PVA types of adhesives are old-school. I would say the best choice of adhesive nowadays would be one of the many UV-cure resins or adhesives out there.  Since UV light cures them, there is nothing to evaporate.  Might be time to rethink the glue media.

I order a bottle for features builds. I love their setting solutions for water slide decals.

I've been using that for a long time too. Actually, it's the same stuff as that craft glue you get at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
