  1. This is why I like the two piece wheels. You could use the wheel of choice(within reason) and the wheel back from the kit. I despise the new style (Moebius type) wheel. And to the OP, the wheel from the other kit appears to need a wheel back. Do you have the other kit the wheels are from?
  2. I’m a pickup truck builder but won’t be doing this one.
  3. I agree that the lacquer on clear parts may be a bit aggressive and may be “crazing” it. May be the cause of the fog your seeing. I have the acrylic Tamiya clear blue I’m going to try. Future is acrylic also.
  4. Contact the vendor. If they are selling a product that is difficult to use for an experienced builder, some type of instruction should be included.
  5. Have you tried sanding the glass with 600-800 then brush or spray the transparent paint on? I had a scratched windshield that I sanded out most of the scratch and brushed on Future, came out clear. I would think transparent orange would come out the same. I have a Nova gasser I’m building right now that I’m going to try my technique only in blue.
  6. Can you get a pic of the wheel, I’m sure someone on this forum knows or has what it is. Jeeps used the 5lug pattern with the large center hole. I would think this would be relative to truck wheels only.
  7. I really like this offering. I’ve never ordered anything from him before, my question is how long is the wait time on “in stock” items? $50 is not chump change in my hobby world and would rather hold on to my cash until it becomes available. Most times in the past the pre-orders are fulfilled and then when I go to order the status shows “out of stock”. I would like to order and receive an order in this hobby in a timely manner. Is this a possibility with this vendor? Thanks in advance for the replies.
  8. My LHS sells Testors bottles for $3.99. I have $12 in the paint job on the Nova I’m building.
  9. I’ve used the Testors canopy glue to pre assemble a resin engine and it was difficult to remove with hot water. Everyone calls this a PVA glue but I know Elmers wood glue is easier to clean up with water which is also pva. Maybe the Testors has additional ingredients to make it better. I’ll use it to install glass in a model but not for pre assembly.
  10. The diagram in the instructions show to drill out the inner most holes for the gasser rear springs. The outer holes are for the ‘64 SS in stock form. I have both kits on the bench, SS is almost done. Finishing up on paint. I’ll try to get a picture of the diagram later and post it.
  11. I’ve had better luck with paint sticking to the chrome then the lacquer under it. I would just mask off what isn’t to be painted then shoot the gray on with the airbrush. How much handling are the wheels going to get?
  12. Nice job! Weathering is spot on. What are the wheels from? They look like Western Bullets or factory Jeep wheels.
  13. Beautiful job on this finicky kit. It was my Achilles heel kit from the other thread.
  14. Testors white enamel and Testors clear. It ages from white to a pretty close match to Bombay Ivory.
  15. In previous threads some have removed the molded in script, then used the decals to simulate the emblem.
  16. Thanks Charles. Your product is worth waiting for.
  17. I’m waiting patiently. I have plenty other kits to build before the Jeep makes its way to the bench. Using one of your BBC engines in a build now.
  18. No apologies needed. Not my thread. I haven’t run across this before and was trying to gain some knowledge. I’m building the Moebius Nova and it has leafs and ladder bars and from what I’m seeing is wrong. My apologies to the OP, Tony, for plugging up his WIP. Nice scratch building on the chassis by the way.
  19. I’ve mentioned it a few times before that one of the printers need to offer a Jeep 4.0. Could be fuel injected or carbureted. My project TJ Jeep may have to get a HellCat instead. I would like to do one unmodified too.
  20. I understand how the suspension would bind, but does that mean all the gassers built here with ladder bars are wrong?
  21. I’m also working on two Novas. Great looking interior and engine. I would like to find a Trumpeter Nova but they are a bit pricey.
  22. On most Novas that I’ve seen has that dash area plated or painted silver.
