  1. The proportions are better on the kit roof. I like the omission of the vent window. Brings this build in to the present century. Body work on both is amazingly smooth. Well done.
  2. Went to a local car show yesterday. Two new Corvettes. I’m not sure they were considered show cars but it was cool looking them over. I wouldn’t stop at the dealership to look at them.
  3. POINTLESS,POINTLESS. 18 holes with me presents thousands of problem solving opportunities.
  4. I have one from the AMT 55 Chevy Cameo that won’t be used. It’s yours if you think it’ll fit. I could try it on the Foose pickup if their close to being the same.
  5. I’ve bought curbside kits but fully intend to install an engine. I’m not a speedy builder and prefer to build into the kit more detail then the manufacturer provided. Much of this detail is located under the hood. No hoods glued down for me.
  6. Spent a few years in a J&T service truck myself. Did you work there? Which location?
  7. I usually run down the basement, glue or paint something then back upstairs. I did make time over the weekend to paint most of the parts to finish my Nova gasser.
  8. Paint looks great and that color pops in the light.
  9. I’m from the other camp. I don’t like it at all. Would have been better if they wouldn’t have put the two round things right in the middle. Would have been great if they left them out completely. Stock grill should have been included. Sorry to derail the thread.
  10. AMT has done a pretty good job with the wagon, but the convertible has been neglected. Trumpeter kits are not in my budget for a plastic model kit. I saw one at a show for $75. Too rich for my wallet and the chassis detail is not as good as the Moebius kits.
  11. Sharp looking. Captures the look of the era.
  12. Sure it can be done. Cut close to the image and soak all the glue off as mentioned. Once applied and protected it’ll be fine.
  13. I haven’t built any Moebius kits other than the Nova SS and gasser. Both are still on the bench. This may affect whether I purchase the two new Nova kits that are coming out. Probably wait for the reviews.
  14. On surfaces that aren’t glossy it’s best to cut as close as possible to the image. I’ve never had luck with decal solutions making them stick better to these surfaces. It’s more to soften and allow the decal to lay in the contours.
  15. That is well done. Great thank you gift idea.
  16. I went back to take these pictures and realized mine was not all the way down in the front either. Body isn’t glued in place yet. I tried to ease it into place but won’t go all the way down. Maybe the valance is too high where I glued it to the body.
  17. Radiator is even with the core support and like was mentioned before, the upper hose is about even with the battery.
  18. Had the same issue. Trimmed about 1/16” off each end and the brace fit between the headlight buckets.
  19. I use the blue tube. The orange stuff smells too good.
  20. That is a sharp looking truck. Well worth building in scale.
  21. How about one of the engines from the go-cart in the AMT ‘60 Chevy pickup?
  22. Other than the wheels and tires and that hideous grill, the instructions look like the same kit I built. Recent builds of the go-cart kit has had reports of warpage. Just a heads up.
  23. That is a very nice color on just about any model. With different base colors, the finished color can be manipulated. Silver or gold base makes the metal flake pop. With a dark base it will come out as a “black cherry” look. That color red is semi transparent so be sure the base coat is consistent all over. Good luck and post the results.
