michelle Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 this is the amt craftsman series kit I had to drill new holes for the mirrors where they should be located as the placement for where amt ment for them to go was to far forward other then that this was a great kit I painted the body Tamiya ts-60 pearl green and the interior I painted rust-oleum 2x gloss modern mint which I sprayed rust-oleum 2x matte clear on to make it less glossy I used another song that came out in 64 for the background music well it is a cover of a chuck berry song by a different artist who released his recording in 64 5
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Like that color. Car has a very calming look to it. Nice Job.
papajohn97 Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Nice job Michele and the TS-60 Pearl green is one of my favorites, particularly for 60’s American cars. I also really liked the Johnny Rivers soundtrack model on turntable video you included, it made me briefly fantasize driving a 1:1 version of your Pearl green Comet down Sunset Blvd on a Sat night in the Summer of ‘64 to see Johnny perform at the Whiskey A-Go-Go. Unfortunately I was only 11 at that time and had to settle for building car models in my bedroom and getting glue and paint on my little kid desk while Johnny sang “Memphis” on my AM transistor radio. Thanks for posting!

Sledsel Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Nice Comet. Color is spot on for the early 60's. I noticed on your builds that you like to paint the chrome silver. Is there a reason for this? Just curious.

Rust-Oleum makes some and for the amount you get it's better than dull coat
