Jeff: Turn the top suction hose around as when firefighters unload the hose they don't need to turn it around to connect the two together. Remember the cab is a tilt cab so room has to be left for the arc of the tilt.  Also to Steve your right about building fire apparatus. I have had over 50 years of joy building them.

Watching your progress is great Jeff.

You have 2 of the best throwing years, sorry decades of fire truck model building experience your way. This is why this is such a great forum. Charlie and Greg, thank from me for all the help to make this such a great Model. We are all learning from this.

Just finished turning the top suction hose around thanks for the tip it means a lot to me that I get this build as correct as possible.  This forum has really been helpful I really don’t know if I would have made it this far with out it a vast bank of knowledge

Well been playing around with the cab and a couple of the hose lays not happy with the cab it turned out a lighter shade of red than the bed going to strip it and respray it I am going to chalk it up to bad air quality

Sorry but it is a 1/25

Oops, I guess this is due to my lack of knowledge on the subject. :)

Regardless, the amount details and the overall built quality is truly outstanding!

Keep it up please~

Don't see a lot of difference in the color.  Did you give the cab more coats than the body?  I've had that happen to me on occasion.  Forgot how many coats I gave one piece and then went on to paint other parts and found slight differences in shade.

Oh I think that you have plenty of knowledge I have followed yours and many other members builds and if I can do half as good as you guys do and if anything it makes me want to strive to do better and if it wasn’t for The Godfather’s of fire trucks Greg & Charles I don’t believe that I would have made it this far

I tried correcting my mistakes by trying to buff them out it’s one of those I can see it things and it bothers me (pictures just don’t show it)

Great job on this build, the stance looks great! Note, the AMT '63 F 100 kit came with the same crest design side emblems shown in your photos of the town's pumper, they come up time to time on ebay when someone parts out an older kit.

Ready to try it again I did swap out the stake side mirrors for a set of Louisville Hauler mirrors from the salvage boxes I think that they are actually a better fit for this build now to give it a good day to dry then wet sand then paint

Nice job on the vents. For all the years of service it be no fault of having multiple shades. Unless you are making first delivered day truck.

Everything is looking great. Nice work on the details. I just read this thread through, a fine primer for building a Ford C-series pumper.  I've been planning a similar project myself, and this thread will be a huge help, thanks to the mountain of knowledge contributed. Cheers all.

Well I have to be totally honest I muffed up the last paint job trying to fix my mistakes and used air quality as a excuse. But the redo led to a couple improvement’s the mirrors and vents the vents I was actually going to leave plain l tried the filling in with marker suggestion but didn’t like the way it looked and then a friend gave me a couple of other ideas witch turned out really realistic so hopefully I don’t Muff it up this time around
