New project started tonight. I intend to build it out of the box and give it to my friend who loves this car.

A good start so far, the body is prepped and ready for paint, along with the wheel centres, cage and other parts. Will paint tomorrow when it is a bit warmer weather.

Looks to be a very nice kit. Looking forward to see the next steps.

Thanks Pierre! Tamiya quality is always pretty nice, some only build Tamiya for that reason but I think a good modeller can make ANY kit fabulous.

I got some Zero pure white laid on the body, cage and wheels, they came up pretty good, I also painted the brake rotors.

Good start so far!  White paint came out nice also.  Keep it up!

Thanks! The paint came up ok. I've been working on the body doing panel lines and other details. I'm really looking forward to doing the decals, they're such a huge part of what this car means to so many.

Not big progress but still going ok. I did the headlight backing, door and panel gaps and started getting the body ready for decals

Woohoo! Glad to have the bulk of  these done. Old decals can test your patience so much. A couple fell right apart but I was lucky enough that they were minor ones. I couldn't get the one above the door to sit properly, I may go back to it but I'll see how that goes, I may chicken out! The inside of the 36 on the bonnet wasn't sitting right as it's right on top of a Louvre so I did it by hand with paint instead. The Louvre on the other side has the same problem so I'll look at trying to match the red and green on that one if I'm feeling brave.

Nice progress on an epic racer from the 90’s!

Thanks! I'm having fun with it.

I finished the body decal work and I'll shoot some clear on to seal them in. Also a progress pic of the interior and chassis plate.

Looking fantastic. I just picked up one of this kit with the thought of making it a tuner.

Thanks for the compliment, it's a great kit but no opening parts or engine detail is a bit of a downer.

great job on those decals. Had that kit along with the Toyota  GT1 24hrs car, but got rid of Castrol car and did the Toyota. You need to get the GT1 and build it, the best looking race car along with C9 Mercedes, keep the  good work

All done!

I'm sure my friend will love it.

Now to pack it so the postal gorillas can't break it.?

Thanks for following along everyone.

Thank you, they took a long time to get right, probably 45 minutes each wheel! Don't let decals spook you too much, the more you do, the easier they get, if you avoid them, you're missing out on valuable experience time! Hahahaha get into it!

I have started a 1/12 McLaren MP4/4 (Meng) and is decal heavy so I better learn quick smart..  I dislike curves unless the are 36-24-36?

I've always liked the body style on the Toyota Supra.  Nice looking.

Thanks Zippi, I like the Mark 4 shape as well, they look fast even when parked.

Gift delivered! My friend Mark loved it! He sent me this picture next to his 1/10 Tamiya R/C version.
