That's funny, I was just thinking about starting on mine sometime soon! I got this kit at a local die-cast vendor/swap meet for $5.00 a couple years ago, opened but untouched inside. Saw the real truck at the Pontiac Silverdome in '88. Really a blast to see it pull, and I think it even had a train whistle when he ran!

I LOVED Orange Blossom Special II as a kid! I live in Bowling Green, Ohio which the home of the NTPA World Championship and I remember watching that truck run down the track! What an awesome build!

I was watching this kit on eBay...just sold for $89.99

I also have been trying to find information on Truck Pullers...lots of pixurz out there of the trucks, but no detail pixurz of chassis, suspension, engines, etc.

Just started a thread on this forum a couple days ago asking for help in this regard

I plan on building a 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive truck...got a few '50 Ford and '51 Chevy truck models to play with, will be fun following your build

If you want to paint them, strip the chrome off them then paint.

To strip it use Super Clean. Can be found in Wal-Mart in the automotive section. 5 Gallon jug.

Also I have heard that Easy Off Oven Cleaner works good too. The yellow can I believe.

I look forward to seeing this one! I watched it pull when I was little and also built the model when I was a kid. I know mine was horrible, so I hope to see this one done. :)
