this is a vintage mpc 1973 Chevy Vega rebuilder I got from a friend in trade I took it apart and redid it I added a trunk lid spoiler and L-88 hood scoop which I cut out of a corvette hood the rims and tires came from my parts boxes I redid the blown engine as a 454 with a tri-power air cleaner  I painted the body tamiya ps-16 metallic blue

I have a song from 1973 playing in the background of the video

Awesome job Michelle! Of course that hood is absolutely fantastic, and I've never seen it done on a Vega before. Coming from that era myself, I worked on a number of these with small block V8's right from the factory. Good luck changing the spark plugs! :) The Cosworth Vega of that time was way cool too...

Cool looking with a brutish street appeal!

The Vega was a cheap car, either you love it or hated it and like the Pinto they were eveywhere.  Economical, great on gas, rode on 13" tires to which there was a never ending supply of, any and every parking lot had a hand full in the mix.

Rarely did you see a clean well kept version. The interior slowly deterioted into a abandon living space. The 4 cylinder engines took a beating but so did your wallet when you had to buy oil to replace either what leaked out or smoked out the tailpipe. You never really changed oil, you just constantly added oil to a thirsty aluminum engine cylinder.

Great for a first car, cheap transportion or if you wanted to break the 0 to 60 mph in two days mark.
