Great foil work Zippi!

Thanks Buddy.  If I can get through the other side I think I'm home free.

BMF... the other white meat. I try to avoid it, but I can do it. I have 2 projects that need it. I wait until the house is ultra-quiet, sit at a clean spot at the table with lots of light and some surgical blades.

I hear ya man.  I have to wait until the caffeine is out of my system so I'm not shaking so much.

I'm getting close on this one fellows.  Today I finished up the foil work, got the glass installed, engine installed in the chassis, and and interior buttoned up.

Everything is looking good, Bob! Paint and foil are fantastic!  BTW, I used to hate foil too but I decided that it was going to be my forte, so I mastered it and now I look forward to foiling everything I build. Its my favorite part of the building process now! Can't wait for the completion of your build! I'm sure it will look great! ??

Wow. That’s looking really good. Nice save on the paint.

Thanks man.  Yeah, I dodged a bullet on the paint.

I appreciate it man.  Well....I don't think I'm ever going to look forward putting bmf on so I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Beautiful build Bob. 2nd time around was the charm on the paintwork eh?

Cheers, Wolf

Thanks man.  Yeah, had to go after it twice to get it right.

Yes you did. But it turned out great.

Yup, I think it turned out pretty good.

Nice job on the repaint and everything else. I have a couple of cursed projects that have been painted 2 or 3 times.

Thanks.  I hate to have to put a model in the drink but sometimes it just has to be done.

I was looking at the bumpers this morning and I don't like the lines across the chrome so I'm going to sand them off.  I'll try and shoot them with the Molotow chrome and hope they look ok.  I got the battery installed and found a master cylinder I could use.  I burnt through the paint in a small area on the rear quarter panel so I'm on the hunt for another bottle of the Testors Gloss Sunburst.  I believe this paint has been disconnected but I'll come up with something.

The local hobby shop didn't have any more of the Testors Gloss Sunburst and said it was discontinued.  The wife and I just got back from Hobby Lobby and Michael's looking for more and none to be found.  I got online and found two bottles so I ordered them.  Be here in a week.

I hear you on those mold lines right in the middle of the bumpers. Jeez....why did they bother chroming them?? Your progress is looking great so far and am looking forward to the recovery efforts with the paint. Glad you were able to find the color you needed.

I have an AMT '69 Torino I started 20 years ago. I painted it the wrong Tamiya red, used the #27 Donnie Allison decals on it and something went amiss with the clear. This year, figured it would be a quick and dirty resurrection. Into the purple pond, then a ton of sanding.

Shot it again in white lacquer. Polished that out to perfection. Put a different set of decals on it... but some of them refused to stay on the car. Maybe it was TOO smooth. Back in the box it went...

Thanks Joe.  I hear ya on the mold lines.  I have them sanded down and tomorrow I'll airbrush the Molotow chrome on and see how well it looks.  Fingers crossed.

Lookin' forward to it. I do like the Molotow and all but I'm not much of a fan of the 48 hour cureout times. lol

Thanks man.  Yeah, the dry time does take a while and I still hate to touch it after that.
