OldTrucker Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Building it to go with the dump trailer. Can't believe how tough the crime plating is on this kit and most has to come off! Three days in purple power and still some remained! Another first is I am following the instructions and removing parts as I go because so many extra parts seem to be in the kit. So far it has been a pain! LOL 2
Pete68 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Yeah try a brand called Awesome cleaner I’ve tried different ones my brother says this one will get that chrome off.
Trendsetta68 Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 wow, those seats look like real leather ! ??
OldTrucker Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 Chassis done and a little weathering on the engine. Cab in primer drying right now maybe first color on thursday.
Rockford Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Something very impressive about that interior.

tractoraholic Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Nice job so far, your interior looks great. Looks spot on for a early interior
OldTrucker Posted August 26, 2023 Author Posted August 26, 2023 Frame pretty well done drive train in. Molded the passenger side fender piece to the hood. Not perfect but my putty was not in great shape. Also fixed the headlights. Maybe get paint on the cab tomorrow. 3
OldTrucker Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 Back on it again after dealing with a severe ear infection and the wife's case of shingles. Got color on the cab and rear fenders yesterday. Need to finish the window seal detail but tremors in my left hand seem to be getting worse. May have to get the wife or one of my boys to do it.
RocketFoot Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Looking good! The Mack DM is an amazing truck!
gotnitro? Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 nice looking build ! These DM Macks really had a rugged look
OldTrucker Posted October 21, 2023 Author Posted October 21, 2023 Getting closer just jve to figure out mounting the cab. There seems to be no real mounting points on it. Do know the hood has to be in place first.
OldTrucker Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 Jot the cab mounted using a shim on one mounting point then just sat and held it in place with hood closed until it stuck which was a while because I was out of super glue and had to use tube glue. 1
