Zippi Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 That's starting to look pretty nice there Ken. Lot of Great detail work.
kenlwest Posted September 13, 2023 Author Posted September 13, 2023 The seat and top. One more coat of gloss black on the roof bows and seat bucket, and it's ready to be set on the body. 1
kenlwest Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 I just need to add the lights and top leather hold down straps, and she'll be ready for the display case.
kenlwest Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 Here are the leather hold down straps and buckles. The brackets and straps on the sides of the seat are used to tie the top bows in the down position.
kenlwest Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 Attached the lamps, and horn. Just a little touch up, and I will post final pictures in the Under Glass. Thanks to everyone who walked along with me through this project. I am not one to respond to every kind comment or words of encouragement, but know that it is and was appreciated!
peteski Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 That was some amazing modeling Ken. Not only the model itself, but seeing how the 1:1 vehicle was constructed mechanically was also very interesting. May I suggest that you post a link here to the Under Glass thread. Will make it easier to find when someone looks at this thread later. 1
Richard Bartrop Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 A beautifully detailed model, but with all that work, but I have to say, would it have been a bed thing to take some sandpaper and filler to that body?
Big John Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 (edited) Nah, that's the wood grain showing through. As Peter said, it was great to se how the 1:1 Sears Motor Buggy was designed and built. Something that most of us would never imagine, you captured so well. I especially like the tie down straps for when the top was down. If you don't mind, what CAD program are you using? Nice organic shapes to the top and the dimond tuck seat is deelightful . Thanks again for a fun ride. Edited September 15, 2023 by Big John
