1/8 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza by Pocher

Recommended Posts

Today I finished working on the model. I decided not to mount the fenders because I think the Alfa looks better without them. The fenders look too big in relation to the wheels and the mounting brackets in particular look very unreal, although I also painted them the same color as the car. Now the Alfa gets its place in the showcase. Maybe someday I'll get in the mood to come up with something different with the fenders.

Oh yes, I see the coolant thermometer is sitting askew on the hood. The last driver probably didn't screw it on properly after the last filling... lol

All I can say is WOW Hanjo.  Pocher kits are certainly no walk in the park.  ( I have this one)  The engine, under  carridge  and paint are most impressive.  A fine piece of craftsmanship..very well done.

Well deserved!   I hear those kits fight you all the way.

Thank you, Rich and Jeremy.

I've had enough of old Italians for now. I look forward to tomorrow. The weekend is near Berlin US car classics. Hopefully the weather is kind to the old cars.

Very interesting, Hanjo. Is there a big following for old U.S. cars in Germany?

Gary, I don't know how big the fan base is. This meeting has been held once a year for many years. I'll be there for the first time tomorrow. I will tell you and take photos.

Very well done, Hanjo - I would not have the nerve to finish one of these (the spoke wheels !). That is a quite unusual color for an old Alfa - does it represent a certain car or is it due to your imagination ?

Many thanks, Helmut.

I was looking for a suitable color for this model, but it shouldn't be red, because I already have enough red Alfas in my showcase. I found this color and I really liked it.

Fantastic build and I agree, it looks better without the fenders and that green is gorgeous.

Looks fantastic. I built a Pocher Bugatti Type 50T in 1982.

Many thanks Chris, John, Mario and Michael.
