customsrus Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 This was basically a parts car when I received it. Missing half the kit parts. So I decided to make a custom out of it. Most of this build will be using parts box parts to complete. Wheels, tires taillights, door handles, and rear view mirror are from the parts bin. For motorvation I found a hemi for it. I also reworked the rear quarter panels. Still a lot to go but I’m getting there. 6
Chuckyg1 Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 That's different & way cool. Can't wait to see the end result.

Rattlecan Dan Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 The dual canopies give it a mini batmobile look. I'm liking it.
customsrus Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 Update. Here is the frame for the vette. Made exhaust out of plastic rod. Will have to tweak just a bit more for clearance for the rear axle housing. Since the original front spindles and rear leaf springs were missing I had to make new ones. Also made some brake drums. More to come. 4
NOBLNG Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Interesting project, and nice work so far on the suspension and exhaust.? I’ll tag along.?
Starwulf Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Reminds me of the XP-64 Corvette SS. Looks good, will be following this build. 1
Kenmojr Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Being a C1 owner and big fan of early solid axle Corvettes, I am super impressed with your efforts. Excellent stuff...

Excellent stuff... This is the other vette. It’s a 53 that was another kit that was missing half the parts. But I have several futura canopies so I thought I would use them. I will post this one with in a couple days. 1
dino246gt Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I love your tail light treatment, reminds me of a 60s Ferrari!

customsrus Posted September 6, 2023 Author Posted September 6, 2023 Got a little bit done today. Made some accessories parts for the motor such as pulleys, alternator brackets, power steering pump and an a/c unit. Got to have air with the bubble top. Lol. Hemi will mate up to a GM transmission. Will have to make a trans adapter at some point. 1
