David G. Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 I'm curious to see how the front ride-height plays out with the adjustments you made. David G.

Zippi Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 Took me all morning but I got the front trim on the fenders cut and installed. The front was much harder than the rear. 3
espo Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Are thinking full chrome body trim or shaved nose?

With the good-looking chrome trim on the fenders, I'm thinking maybe a sun visor and "bird" on the hood may be in order. Look up Ol'Skool Rodz and Car Kulture DeLuxe to see what some guys are doing with their 1:1 rides.

The one that comes in the kit is bulky looking with the brackets. I need to see what the Iceman may have on his site that can help me out. I'll check out Ol'Skool Rodz and Car Kulture DeLuxe.
ksnow Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Great job on the trim, sure looks nice. Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Check and see if you have any of the Moebus Hudson kits as they had a nice visor. The other would be any of the Galaxy '40's era Chevrolet kits.

David G. Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Those trim strips work tremendously well with that body style Bob! Very Art-Deco looking. David G.

Zippi Posted October 23, 2023 Author Posted October 23, 2023 (edited) I'm thinking the chrome strips I added on the front and rear fenders are not going to be level with one another but it is what it is I guess. Since I used the Iceman drop Axle I had a hard time figuring out how to set up the tie rods and drag link so I did the best I could. I've tore the front axle off three times thinking it's not going to have the right ride height and I still don't think it will. I got the chassis painted in Tamiya TS-6 Matt Black. bluestringer Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 That is going to look cool Bob. I've been thinking about rebuilding the 50 I did over a year ago, never liked the way it came out. You are giving me some good ideas. Where did you get the wheels and tires?

I think that I might have the visor from the Galaxie 48 Chevy somewhere. Let me know if you'd be interested, and I'll try to track it down. If I recall, it's chrome, and would look great on this truck.

It needs to be body color. Someone else is looking for one as well.
David G. Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 It's all coming together well Bob. Just keep going and things will sort themselves out. And if they don't, it's a just hobby. (I remind myself of this regularly.) David G. 1
Nosferatu Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 This is coming along nicely! I love the trim on the fenders. Dave
