Engine looks great Bob. I like the colors on the truck too.?

Thanks Greg.  Yeah, I think once I get the clear shot on the body it's going to make a Big difference.

I'm looking at the sun visor this morning trying to make up my mind on what to do.  The stock sun visor brackets are over sized and the sun visor is not wide enough looking at pics I found online.  I like how the stock sun visor protrudes out much further than the other two so I may cut it in the middle and add piece of 3/32" stock to make the visor wider.  I'm also going to try and modify the brackets to get them more to the correct size.

I had to fire up the heater in the garage this morning as it dipped down below freezing last night and got down to 29°.  I got the clear shot on the body and also got some of the other parts painted.  The interior is painted in a Satin Warm Carmel, inner fenders with a gloss black, and the interior tub with a Matt black.

I found these pics online so I think I'll paint my running boards the Gun Metal like the cab is.

Thanks Kyle.  After getting the clear on I noticed one of the front chrome stripes had popped loose.  Now I've got a problem.

The sun visors of the time were usually an aftermarket accessory, and their design would vary depending on who manufactured the visor. The visor in the kit looks like it represents a design with more adjustability and stronger mounting support. The adjustable visors could be loosened on both sides and the center support and adjust the angle of the visor. Many would just screw into the A pillar on either side of the windshield, but you wouldn't be able to change the angle of the visor. Having the running boards match the roof would look good.

Thanks for the info David.  Yup, I like dark running boards.  That's why they are painted black on my 49 1:1.

Well....looks like I have one of the chrome trim pieces pop loose.  I'll have to remake a new one today and see if I can get it in place without making a mess.

I know what you mean about that sun shield, I couldn't fig'ur out how the brackets went then found this pic online, hope it helps. Looks like there's some bracing in the middle too.

Bummer on the trim coming lose. Since the area is already painted and removing the old trim and attaching new trim and the possibility of damaging the paint, maybe clamp the trim in place and use a very small touch of glue to see if it will lay down again.

Thanks Buddy.  Since I'm going with a straight 6 on this one I needed to do a little extra in the business end to make it stand out.

Beautiful detail on this one Bob!

The engine wiring and interior paint look great! The seat looks like leather.

I think the sun visor is a great idea. I like that there are so many types to choose from. I'm partial to the ones that look like a bill from a ballcap.

Got a little work done this morning.  The body has been wet sanded and polished.  I finished the wheels and got a few other parts painted and ran into another problem.  If you look, the sun visor is not the same shade of the gun metal as the cab.  I've had this trouble with this paint before.  Looks like I'll need to repaint the sun visor, dash, and running boards.

Those trim strips "speed lines" look like they were stamped into the fenders.

Thanks David.  We'll see how they look once I get the bmf on.
