R. Thorne Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 (edited) A model I built of a friend’s current Stock Eliminator car. It’s not perfect, but I had fun and some challenging experiences, plus some new tools to try out. More details of the build and numerous pictures of the progress in the WIP thread with the same title. Cheers. Edited October 12, 2023 by R. Thorne 1
M W Elky Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Nice work looks just like the real one. I really like the front break discs . Thanks for posting
Yeah Nah Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Nice work Ron. Paint and details all look great!
Ian McLaren Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) I watched the project from the beginning, This is a very deceptive model just like the real car, it looks stockish but there is a ton of quality work done to get it here. Nice representation of the real car, the owner should be pleased and honered. Edited October 13, 2023 by Ian McLaren

My OCD inclination is not completely satisfied with the results, but are we ever? Still, I learned some things and had some fun. One of my next projects and, possibly, the prettiest Stocker out there.
Ulf Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Very good results, building a replica of a real car is much more difficult than being able to compromise.

One of the things learned from this build. Thanks for responding.

R. Thorne Posted December 26, 2023 Author Posted December 26, 2023 Finally got the car tied down and ready to be wrapped for a late Christmas present. Thanks again, Roger.
R. Thorne Posted December 26, 2023 Author Posted December 26, 2023 (edited) Oh, almost forgot, used a strip of 1/16” wide double sided scotch tape fastened to the inner fender to hold the hood in place during delivery to Mike. Edited December 28, 2023 by R. Thorne Misspelled hood
TransAmMike Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Great job Ron and man, love that Corvette. H/SA pulling that high of a wheely?? Hmmm.
