JET. Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) I’m building the side by side engine version. Painted in silver metal flake with candy pink over top. Edited October 23, 2023 by JET. 4
bytownshaker Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Looks fantastic James, that candy pink pops. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Beautiful clean work, great firewall, gorgeous color, nice Dzus-fastener detail too. If the completed model is up to this standard, it'll be spectacular.
espo Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 When you described the paint color, I was thinking it wouldn't look good, then I saw the picture and completely changed my mind, not that it matters, but it looks great. 2

OldNYJim Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 GREAT start! I think I stumbled upon your Instagram this week too...had a lot of 1:1 car pics on. Aside from the color, that firework looks incredible - are the rivets photoetch? Or actual tiny rivets?

Thanks, yeah my Instagram is @eighty3studios my other hobby is car photography lol, they are photoetch bolt heads from top studio ( 0.6mm ) I superglue them on then use debonder to remove the extra superglue since it’s on a piece of aluminum sheet for the firewall. I used them on the front axle mount too but attached them with future floor wax 2
bobss396 Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Nothing looks more like aluminum than... aluminum. On a couple of builds, instead of adding something raised like rivet heads, I crawled out to the garage and dialed off some small (.030" diameter) drill-points on my mill. It has to look very uniform to be a success. I tend to avoid CA glue on finished surfaces, but have to try it now I have seen your build.

JET. Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 (edited) Finished up the seat, I think I stole it from one of ‘29 or ‘32 ford kits. lol Edited October 23, 2023 by JET. 2
James2 Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 Extremely clean build you have going, looks like some great detail work coming up...

dust collectors Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 For whatever reason I can't seem to see the pictures? The description and comments have me thinking this thing is looking sharp! Anyone else having this issue? Would love to see this build.
