1930fordpickup Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Pay with cash and you don't have this problem. I would think the employee that received the tip quit as soon as they were given a check with the money.
espo Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 She might want to consider contacting the Shariff's Department about the issue since the Bank of America doesn't seem any more concerned than the Subway people.

iamsuperdan Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 With so much negativity and so many sour people out there, it's nice that she is remaining relatively upbeat and can see a little humour in this. I've seen this story on a few different news channels now, including CNN last night. So I have no doubt that it will be made right for her. Eventually. Sometimes it seems like it's just me, but I have this habit of paying attention when I'm paying for things.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 https://www.newsweek.com/customer-gives-massive-tip-mistake-subway-sandwich-1845603 First off people are distracted these days. Second the article above explains the issue a little better. I always pay cash for purchases. The fees can cost a business a good chunk in the long run.
slusher Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 My wife asks for the price and receipt of every purchase and keeps them to check against the bank statement. I am blessed to have married an accountant. I will go get my take out and always have. Say that door dash guy spit in somebody’s food became he didn’t like his tip. Saw it on Fox News. Looked liked that wad that guy on Casino spitting in that policeman’s sandwich.. 1

Yeah, but how 'bout if she was in a position where she couldn't laugh while seven thousand dollars was twisting in the wind? I know it may be hard to believe, but 7 grand is a lot of money to some folks. I've seen this story on a few different news channels now, including CNN last night. Sometimes it seems like it's just me, but I have this habit of paying attention when I'm paying for things. You must be closing on geezerhood...
