There are a lot of great 3D printed ones available. I wasn’t planning on making the air cleaner removable, the 67 kit one will look great once detail painted under it with fuel and vacuum lines. 2

I am doing a '66 myself and would like to use a set of those. Great tread pattern. Jerry This set is pad printed tires from Stevens International I purchased on eBay.
Duddly01 Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 (edited) Molotow chromed the window frames and parking / backup lights. Added decals. Now I wait at least 72 hours to let the chrome cure a bit before painting the body with 2K clear, then waiting another week to wet sand and polish. Lots of chassis and interior detailing can be done in the meantime. Edited December 20, 2023 by Duddly01 2
Duddly01 Posted December 21, 2023 Author Posted December 21, 2023 Detail painting started. Detailed the engine with plug wires, in proper firing order, fuel and vacuum lines. Started working on LEDs for dash. Fiber optic cables added to yet completed rally pac gauges. 3
Funkychiken Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Most certainly is impressive, it's a fun build to watch, thanks for posting the detail and all the steps! 1
Duddly01 Posted December 24, 2023 Author Posted December 24, 2023 More parts detailed, used beading wire for the interior chrome trim pieces on the doors and console. Photo-etch door handles and side vents, created pedals. 2K clear on the body. Will wet sand and polish the body in a few days. Next to fuel, brake and parking brake lines on the chassis. 3
Duddly01 Posted December 25, 2023 Author Posted December 25, 2023 chassis detailing basically done and assembled. Next to flock the interior for carpet and continue interior assembly. 3
Duddly01 Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 Wet sanded and polished. Just a little bit of trash in the clear mainly. Flocking for carpet, inside roof painted, Assembly finally started. 4
dino246gt Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Very nice Mustang! A LOT of extra details, well worth it! Looks great.
Duddly01 Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 Chassis and body finally mated together. Painted photo-etch GT emblems red insets and added clear UV resin to give them the original look as best as possible. 5 1
Duddly01 Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 A lot more final assembly done, much to go. I broke one of the rear LEDs and the Amazon replacement is not as bright so have another one ordered from Evans to replace it. Too OCD to leave it not the same brightness on both sides. 4
Duddly01 Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 Created the antenna using a bug pin and capillary tubing. Added photo etch wipers, 3d printed door handles and a scratch built rear view mirror. 2
Duddly01 Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) Created grill, from parts shown, AMT GT grill shown for comparison. UV resin clear over Fog lights for depth and shine. Edited December 30, 2023 by Duddly01 1
Duddly01 Posted December 31, 2023 Author Posted December 31, 2023 I couldn’t stand the stance still so I removed the front wheels and relocated and pinned the spindles shafts higher. I created exhaust trumpets from aluminum tubing. Waiting on a new red led for the left taillight before I can truly finish the build. Then I will give it a final polish, polymer coating and post the finished results in the build thread area. This will be my final WIP post other than posting a link to the final build thread. thanks everyone for you comments. Much appreciated. 4
Duddly01 Posted January 3, 2024 Author Posted January 3, 2024 Replacement LED came in and I replaced the dim one and took new images. Posted in completed build thread.
Musclecarbuilder Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Man the car looks amazing!! Where did you get the LEDs? I want to try to light up my next project. It might be hard though because my next project is AMTs 1968 Shelby GT500. I'm gonna try to kitbash it with the chassis/interior of AMT's 67 Mustang. Hopefully it'll look like this when finished. 1

They have a car kit that includes the headlights and taillights and I add a green LED for the gauges.
Duddly01 Posted January 5, 2024 Author Posted January 5, 2024 @Musclecarbuilder, btw, I would start with the AMT 1967 Shelby Kit if you are going to kitbash. It uses the same chassis and suspension components as the great 1967 Mustang GT kit, and you may only need to change out the nose and taillights to convert it to a 1968 Shelby. Also I get the coin battery and cover it in the trunk, so it looks like a spare tire. something to consider.
Musclecarbuilder Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Thanks! I Really appreciate it! You're helping me out so much. I'll show pics when I'm done with it.

I have built the 68 Shelby convertible transkit that Historic Racing Minatures made that used the chassis parts from the newer AMT 67 GT350 kit. The big block engine should fit okay.
Duddly01 Posted January 5, 2024 Author Posted January 5, 2024 @vamach1 That 68 Shelby Convertible body looks awesome! They aren't still available, are they? Another resin body I see floating around every once in a while, is a 1968 California Special body. That one would be on my grail list. I used to own a Lime Gold 1968 California Special.
