RIP Don Schumacher

Drag race legend, team owner and businessman Don Schumacher passed away from his battle with cancer today at the age of 79. One of the sports biggest names has passed on to the drag strip in the sky after so much he has given to motorsports.

Doubt you'll see anything anywhere except places such as here and NHRA. He's not involved with stick and ball sports.

I remember him well back in the day and it was always a treat to still see him at the start line on the drag strip. Really like seeing these ex drivers continue on in the sport. He will be missed.

My dad bought a battery charger from him when he started near Chicago. I think it was in Park Ridge IL

Between losing the race car drivers of my day and the musicians of my day I'm really starting to to think that I just may not be immortal!
