avidinha Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 #18 The glasses with my new prescription came in, so I was able to get a little more work done on the 512BB. The doors are hinged with a metal pin that goes through the hinge on the door and into the floor then the top of the pin is captured with the dashboard. I also got the pop up headlight assemblies attached. They have switches that stick through the bottom of the model so they can be opened and closed. All I have left to do is install the main body onto the rest of the model. Hopefully I can get everything to line up properly. More next time. 3

atomicholiday Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Been a long time since I’ve done anything for my build here, but I just finished printing the wheels that are going on in. I decided against the Pegasus wheels I had originally planned on, in favor of these. I haven’t decided whether I will use the knockoffs or not. 2
White Rabbit Posted June 18, 2024 Author Posted June 18, 2024 Great updates, everyone! I've been working on the center console. Again, in the style of Singer, but adapted to the RX3. As of now, I'm thinking of running it directly between the rear seats; though, that may change when I get there. There is a phone charger up front, and power window switches behind the shift area. Next, the shift boot and knob. 3

The 308 is a full curbside, the 512 is a semi-curbside with an opening bonnet and the top of the engine visible. I don't think they were an official tie in. The guy in the 308 looks suspiciously like Clint Eastwood. I thought it would be fun to built the 512 for this year's cannonball and, theme permitting, maybe the 308 next year. Expand So cool. White Rabbit Posted June 23, 2024 Author Posted June 23, 2024 Interior modeling continues. I had the idea of removing the rear seats and replacing them with a luggage shelf; similar classic GTs. Here, I've blocked in the area and added two "suitcases." I would also add straps to hold everything down. 1

avidinha Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 (edited) #18 I was able to get the body on and the last few bit put on to finish up the 512BB. I was nervous getting the body on but it came out okay. The kit came with filler pieces for the rear of the door jams. The last pieces were the exhaust tips. They just kinda glued on to the under body and didn't really attach to the rest of the exhaust. But once you turn the car over, you can't really tell. And hears a completed picture with all the opening parts open. The doors were hard to get open once the body was attached so when I close them to take the rest of the pictures, they'll probably stay closed. Here's a link to the finished thread. JimmyRiggins Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 (edited) Hello all! Im new to this forum, and this community build really caught my eye! I have a lot of builds that I could see myself motoring accross the great states in… but most of them don’t fit the regulations. I feel I’ve found a build that’ll fit in very well, so without further a due , I’d like to introduce my contribution to the race… it’s a 1955 ford f100 it has a Lincoln 430 with a Latham blower and side draft carbs backed by a manual transmission and a 9” rear from a 57 ford custom. It’s going to be a full restoration of a period correct pre 1960 rodded truck . Edited July 2, 2024 by JimmyRiggins 1

White Rabbit Posted July 8, 2024 Author Posted July 8, 2024 Hello all! I hope everyone's builds are going well. We've already passed the halfway point in this year's build. But, there are still four months and three weeks of build time. As for my entry, I've been spending time ideating the rear seats. The original idea was to have a rear seat delete option with luggage space in place of the seats. However, proportionally, I wasn't happy with the look. So, some rear seats have been tried. Below is the second design whereby the stock bench is replaced with a 2+2 set up. The design of the seats will match the front Recaro seats. 1
White Rabbit Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Interior update: I made some adjustments to the front seats, particularly, the bolsters; and to the center console to better align the shifter with the seats. 2
Spottedlaurel Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 I stalled for a little bit with my CBR build, I ran out of my preferred Revell SM302 for mid-sheen black and the Humbrol alternative didn't work out very well. And there's a lot of it needed for the suspension and interior.... I found these aftermarket seats which I thought suited the retromod look nicely. Thought I'd try something different for the carpeted areas, imitation suede elbow patches! Spent a morning playing around with very small pieces from the Hobby Design detail set, very few of which will end up beng seen! Might repaint the seat centres a darker shade of grey. I'm happy with the carpet effect, certainly looks like the slightly shiny, nylon-esque material I remember from various 1:1 Japanese cars that I've had. Just need to be careful fitting it, any stray glue shows up and I need to redo it on the loadbay. Rear suspension etc now in place, with the Hobby Design lowering parts to make life simpler instead of me cutting and whittling away at it. For some reason I glued the fuel tank in the wrong place, so I had a worrying minute or two trying to get the body fitted before I realised my mistake.... Body still in its guide coat, hope to progress that if we get any kind of summer here in the UK. 3
