Been wanting to do a diorama for a long time. Finally got my hands on a joes garage for a really great price. It was previously started and has some details that will change.
Repurposed gas station turns hot rod shop.

Started out with trying out a floor plan, the original builder had added a separating wall that in my eyes was taking up a lot of floor space. I may delete the exterior bathroom doors.

What are the dimensions are you working on. I have a space problem and storage problem to.

Sorry for the very late reply, it’s 12 inches by 17 7/8’s. It does take up quite a bit of space

I worked for several years in a "traditional" rod shop that wasn't much bigger than that. Some of the best and most satisfying work I ever did.

Thank you Bill, so far I’ve just kinda mocked this up and threw some litter in there to get a feel for how it’s gonna lay out I’ve dispensed with the idea of having an office area, so the difference in the floor colour will stay. I’m looking into fabrication of a compressor but I may leave that idea as an outside the back of the shop item.

Just saw a build review on hpiguys workshop of this kit. Apparently MRC has re-issued it. I thought I had enough kits but apparently not. Will be watching your build.

Well that figures lol, it gets re-released after I comb the ends of the earth to find one hahaha.progress on this will be slow but I’ll make an effort to try to keep after it.

Spent some time adding some stains to the floor and a bit of colour to the walls! It’s starting to come together. Not sure if the lift is staying but it adds a nice touch to the garage.

Holy moly has it been that long since I updated this? Well in a flurry of activity I solidified some stuff for the inside of the shop, I’ll let the pics do the talking. More litter and parts will find their way in as real shops do.
