Scott Eriksen Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 And another 30 year old build , I used the AMT 71 Duster and if I recall a Ross Gibson Hemi with a Rat Roaster intake ,,some things I didn't do but should have was paint the engine Ford blue and a more correct engine (Tunnel Ram,,,D5 dual plug heads etc. ) Not as much reference material back then as there is now like Jim Schilds Sox & Martin book and books by Geoff Stunkard and others. 12

TarheelRick Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Really nice rendition of an S&M Duster, especially for a 30 year old build. Wish I had kept my 30 year olds builds. 2

spkgibsonfirebird Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Where did you find those wheels? The old AMT '57 Chevy kit? Great looking build, 30 years old and still looks amazing. 1
Altered Ego Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 I love the build and love the creative liberties taken. Who's to say they didn't test an intake like this at some backwoods match race track? 2
Old Buckaroo Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 That is a fine looking S&M Duster - one of my most favorite teams. You're right about the reference material back in the day, magazines consisted of a color photo on the cover if you were lucky and B&W pics in the article. The book you mentioned is awesome. I have an old S&M Duster build I stalled out on due to finding out the engines were painted ford blue by Jake King. 1
