Interesting project so far, I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Interesting indeed.  I may put this one aside for just a bit so I can get on the 66 Mustang Pro Street I've started.  I'm already behind on the GB.  Thanks.

Ok fellows, I'm back on the 37 Monster truck this morning.  I have a roll bar mock-up that I'm satisfied with.  The frame is in the spray booth along with the inner wheels.

Good work on the roll bar Bob.

Out of the context of the body, that suspension befuddles my brain! ?

It seems like it will be a bit much for the truck, but I suppose that that's the point. It truly will be a monster from the looks of it.

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks David.  I think when I decided to turn it into a Monster truck I had the 1937 Chevy Orange Blossom Special truck on my mind. I just bumped it up from a pulling truck to a Monster truck.

I got the main color on the chassis yesterday and started the detail work this morning.  Still a lot to go.  Got the wheels & tires painted in Light Gun Metal.  The light bar is finished and I may shoot some clear over the Matte black.  All the shocks are done as well.  I need get the heat gun after the fenders and bed as it has a pretty good warp.

That is looking great Bob.? Are you going to put some supports under the running boards for the roll bar??

Thanks Greg.  I don't know.  My first thought was to run a piece of flat stock across the frame underneath, drill holes on each side through the running boards and attach the light bar to the flat stock but the transfer case is in the way.

I now haven a rolling chassis.  Just some minor tough up and it's finished.  I have also decided to leave the drivers side of the hood open to show the engine.

That's going to be one impressive little monster when it's done! ?

Excellent work on this so far Bob.

Thanks David.  Been working my butt off trying to get the open hood to work.

I think I have the hood where it doesn't look to bad.  To late to turn back now right.  Just a little more clean up and I think I'll be done with it.

Good call on the hood Bob.

I think modeling it in the opened position looks much better than lifting the entire thing off every time you want to show the engine.

Seeing your take on this makes me want to build something from this time period just to try that out.

Well done!

Thanks's David.  I wasn't to sure when I started this venture on the open hood look but I think it's going to be ok.  To late to turn back now right ?

I got the fuel cell wired, plumbed, and installed.  Hoping to get the body final sanded and prepped and ready for the spray booth today.  It was 35° this morning so painting will have to wait.

I fired up the heater in the garage and got the humidity down to about 45% and got the body in Tamiya Light Gray Surface Primer.  It will be going in the Dehydrator shortly.

Super cool project. I like that you found a Ford motor to put in it.

Thanks Edward.  Actually I happened to have one waiting in the wings waiting for the right project.

The primer looks good Bob. Nice work on the fuel cell too.

Thanks David.  I'm at the spray booth as we speak shooting the top coat on.

I got the top coat (Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal) on about an hr ago.  All went well except for a little trash in the paint.  I'll get that out when I wet sand.  I'm a happy camper.  Looking through my stash for some decals for the doors.
