Pro Tech Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Here's something I started awhile back. Started life as the Ramchargers kit that will be built into a early gas dragster with alot of revisions. Thanks for looking! Charlie Pro Tech
Bernard Kron Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Nice F.I. I presume it's made from your parts, right?
Dragline Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Looking very nice indeed. I have a Ramchargers kit I've been hoarding. After I finish a few of the things I have going I'm gonna tackle it. I'll be watching this one. Dragline
roadhawg Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Holy moly! Those injectors are quite nice indeed.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Nice job on those injectors. Always wanted to try that.
george 53 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Gotta agree with the guys,Charlie. If the rest of the build comes out as well as them there injectors, she's gonna be a beaut!
Pro Tech Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 Here's the latest. Tried to replicate shop rags wrapped with duck tape on the breathers as some were run back in the day. Thanks for looking! gbk 1 - parts of mine that were used on the injector set-up are the hex fittings and black spark plug wire. Charlie Pro Tech
Pro Tech Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 Thanks Val! Here's the latest with plumbing, wiring and weathering done. Later, Charlie Pro Tech
Foxer Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Fantastic engine detailing .. weathering, or maybe just the lighting, makes those breathers look as you intended.
Bernard Kron Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Lookin' better and better, Charlie. It made me get off my duff and send you an order for some fittings, magnetos, etc. BTW, whose basic engine are you using, the kit one? Also, where'd those loverly stacks come from? And finally, what size hex fittings did you use on the injectors? B.
Pro Tech Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 Lookin' better and better, Charlie. It made me get off my duff and send you an order for some fittings, magnetos, etc. BTW, whose basic engine are you using, the kit one? Also, where'd those loverly stacks come from? And finally, what size hex fittings did you use on the injectors? B. Thanks Guys! it's been a fun (but slooow) build so far. gbk1, the engine is the kit engine with the addition of a (reworked) Parts by Parks intake with injectors from Speed City Resin. I also revised oil filter mount, reworked fuel pump, and scratcbuilt a harmonic balancer. Pro Tech parts used were magneto, plug boots, plug wire for injector lines with my smallest size hex fittings for the fittings and my rubber fuel line for the main fuel feed off the pump. Also added some bolt heads to the front of the pump and front timing cover for further detail. Thanks for your support of my products Charlie Pro Tech
Jeff Sauber Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Thats looking real nice, Charlie. I like the weathering touches, it really helps make the engine look functional.. I've been working hard on the "Christine" race car. I hope to get it all done in the next 2-3 weeks.... I'll post it here in the drag section, as well as send you a few pics. Your braided lines are the best!! I'm really enjoying plumbing this thing. The chassis and cage are finally done, I just have the engine bay to finish up on, and then a little body work, paint, and graphics...........Jeff
v8horsepowercj Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Looks great so far Charlie the blackwash really brought out the depth. The fuel lines and fittings on the stacks look perfect as well nice work Chris
Pro Tech Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Thanks guys, moving along slowly. Got the seat in with my photoetch harness set that I reworked to make more period correct. Charlie Pro Tech
Pro Tech Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 I finished the front end. I scratchbuilt the heim joints and radius rods. Also scratchbuilt a new fuel cell for it. Charlie Pro Tech
nitrojunkie Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Are the Hex fittings used on the front end in your product line up?If so what are the part numbers?
Bernard Kron Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 ...I scratchbuilt the heim joints and radius rods.... Is this all metal or part plastic? In any case, it's convincingly to scale and beautifully done.
Foxer Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I had to go back to page 1 to verify this isn't a 1/16 build! That front end is spectacular!
