Koellefornia Kid
This rendering by Steve Stanford, published in SRP magazine some years ago... inspired me to cut up my amt ‘53 Studebaker kit: The body was shaved, shortened, chopped, lowered and sits on Pegasus wheels. I also frenched the headlights and cleaned the front bumper. The engine was robbed from a 1972 Corvette street machine kit and equipped with plug wires: The kit‘s custom rear bumper was notched to accept scratch built exhaust tips: I had a lo of trouble during the build with shrinking putty, leaking glue bottles, old and brittle bmf and a clear coat the just didn't want to get smooth but well... I‘m happy to have it finished finally and have another Stanford inspired ride in the showcase. Hope you like it, too! comments are always welcomed and appreciated! David G.
Hi Oliver, I followed your WIP thread for this build and watched as you pulled it all together so I understand some of the challenged it posed. I find your body sculpting skills impressive. I think you captured the illustration quite well, excellent work! David G.
