ybsluos Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Stephen though your skills may have been lesser when you built this I think it looks fantastic. as was stated above, these were basic kits but despite that you really made it pop! Nice job
happy grumpy Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 You skills either at building or photographing were already very good. The photos are quite good actually and those old Jo-han kits might have lacked details but their body accuracy were almost always spot on ,and this before modern scanning equipment. They had subject mater that practically never came back. I miss those Jo-han models so much. Cherish your old models and be proud of what you did back then because it looks very good even today. Thanks for sharing. 1
Noah H. Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 That's a great looking build. Great shine on the paint.
NOBLNG Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 You do like the odd ones don’t you Steve? Well done, and I’ll look forward to the rebuild.?
Andrew McD Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 I have admired the quality of your builds and find it interesting that you took an approach of build, build, build to hone your skills and craftsmanship as that has been my approach since I became fully engaged in the hobby a few years ago. I certainly don’t produce anything near the quality of your work but I’m seeing improvement. I can’t fault the quality of this build (or your photography) and enjoy getting an historical perspective on the development of a master builder’s skills.
Falcon Ranchero Posted March 21 Posted March 21 That looks very very good; I do like the 1961 Dodge cars; on my list of real cars to get.

My folks bought a Polara w/police option, 383 4bbl new in December 1960, when I was 8. I was always enthralled with the taillights/rear quarter panel design (they are different than the Dart). I learned to drive in it (as well as a ’57 Chrysler 300C conv!). I bought a ‘61 Dart wagon (with the same Polara rear qtrs) in the ‘80s that I loved, even though it was somewhat of a beater. Sadly it was totaled as it sat on a snowy street in front of my house. An out of control suv slid and t-boned it, dead center in the left door post and doors. Been hoping to find another ever since. I am currently, slowly, working at first on one, now two resin wagon kits. Still would like a real one! BTW this is one beauty of a model! Nothing to apologize there! 1
