This is a 1/72 scale diorama which I built quite a while ago ,1995 to be exact. It relates to a real  incident in WWII....This RCAF Sunderland was on its way from Alexandria

It had to land in Malta's Se Base in Kalafrna for an emergency engine change. An Axis airborne attack was imminent to the Island ...Hence a quick engine change

had to be performed half way along the slipway for a quick getaway . It is an Airfix kit which was extensively detailed . The Model is now housed at The Malta

Definitely positively beautiful, and a fascinating story.  :D

Also fascinating is your depiction of how she was built to be worked on, with the swing-out leading-edge supports for the under-engine platforms, and I assume built-in wing hard-points for the engine sling.

Pretty thrilling situation to be doing a big radial engine change in, most definitely.
