I have that AMT '34 Sedan kit as well. Seems to me it received a lot of criticism from experienced modelers back in the day as having inaccuracy issues ...body-wise. Mine is still stacked away in my kit stash.

Yes, the AMT '34 sedan may be obsolete since the Revel releases.

Since I've never found a 1/25th '34 sedan woody, maybe I'll que up the AMT '34 sedan kit for some major "wood" body work...for a woody conversion.

Did it with the Revell Thames drag panel van......?   Doable!

Oooops.

Forget everything I said.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some really simple rules:

* ONLY 1932 Tudor Sedans in 1:25/1:24, no matter the kit manufacturer. No Vickies, no Phaetons (even if based on chopped Tudor), no '31s, no Woodies etc... you get the idea.

* Any body allowed. Kit's, 3D printed, resin... as long as it is a '32 Tudor Sedan. Some of the great resin cast four door bodies are also permitted. Delivery sedan conversions also allowed. Chopped or stock.

* No previously finished models permitted in this thread. This is a fresh challenge. You can enter an already started project, but only if it is no more than 30% complete.

*Build-off starts now and the finish line is October 15th. That's almost 5 months, which should give everyone plenty of time to complete their Tudor, considering the subject matter.

"Before Revell offered the Deuce Sedan the only other model out there was the Orange Crate! "

Kit, I recall (IIRC) - AMT had both a 32 and a 34 Ford Tudor Sedan.

Probably not in general retail release when the Revell kit was out, but they were out there, around the time Revell reissued the "Orange Crate" -  ( the reissue with the resin hood to replace the one they butchered to do a "Custom Chopped" '32 street rod).

I bought several of the AMT kits back in the day.

can't speak to the quality of either one since right after I bought them, they went into the man cave kit storage closet.

Jim, you are correct! In addition, there were a couple other offerings of the Deuce Sedan. I might have been a bit more specific regarding my earlier comment, by qualifying my statement as being a "Revell" offering being the Orange Crate. -KK

This arrived today. For $24 shipped to my door, I guess this is happening.

BTW, are we posting our in-progress builds here or in our own separate threads?

Ordered mine last night. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Got mine for $25 off of Amazon.

And I was wondering the same thing but I'm pretty sure we post it in here, sort of like the other group builds.

It looks like Revell USA / Carrera got wise to their SUPER Bargain $23.99US price... https://carrera-revell-toys.com/revell/product/145539090-32-ford-tudor-sedan-2-n1

IMNSHO, that would make amazon.com is the way to go for the time being... https://www.amazon.com/Revell-14553-Ford-Tudor-Sedan/dp/B0D1RZWJ53/ref=sr_1_1?crid=20UJQ6RLMETFT&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Jvo6fHWdQC_0c9f-77deacQxOLGNr6mF1PZpU1qivOM.n1O1dIYoNgRePgkeIzzbzAk5ue_RB0EFGBv8tujhd5A&dib_tag=se&keywords='32+ford+tudor+sedan&qid=1717792218&sprefix=32+ford+tudoe+sedan%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-1

I don't know what it is about '32 Ford Tudor Sedans, but I am ADDICTED to this kit!...

I also love 32 tudors! With all the other sellers at a price of around $35, Amazon is a steel!

My name is Brian new here and getting back to modeling. It’s been 30ish years .I am mostly retired now and looking forward to building again. I’m going to join this build off. Question, are camera phone pictures ok ,or do I need to buy a better camera if so what do you recommend? Also Michael you are a very talented builder, the amount of talent here is amazing. I had already started a 32 Sedan build just before this thread fired off. Here -

I will continue with my original thread and post some updates here

The build up is to combine these two kits to get a more modern version of the sedan posted above. That is based on the AMT kit and has a Ford 427 Cobra and XKE front and rear suspensions and has been chopped about 3".

The new build has already been chopped 3 1/2" and will be tubbed. Some other ring in parts will be used such as a Li'l John rear end and any other parts that need to be scratch built or purloined from other kits

Just a note: The instructions for the new release kit # 14553 aren't really clear on some of the optional parts used between the Flathead or Windsor engines, or the Highboy or Full Fendered  versions.  For example, on the frame, the front crossmember (part # 406) is only used if you're installing the Flathead, but not with the Windsor. This isn't called out in the new release instruction sheet. I'd recommend checking out the original instructions to Revell Kit # 85-2062 on Scalemates. Here is the link to the Scalemates pdf... https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/9/0/5/111905-72-instructions.pdf

Another category where the instructions are kinda wacky pertains to the radiators. The instructions call out radiator part # 49 for the Highboy and # 417 for the "Sedan" that I've been referring to as the Full Fendered version. Actually, the radiators are specific to the engine being used, and not the Highboy or Full Fendered "Sedan" body style. Radiator part # 49 fits the Flathead engine, which has 2 upper and 2 lower radiator hoses. Radiator part # 417 fits the Windsor engine, which has 1 upper and 1 lower radiator hose. The radiator shell and electric fan are the same for both versions.

As Snake was fond of saying "Instructions are just someone else's opinion" or words to that effect..... -RRR
