Thanks for your kind words Chassis is 32 Phantom Vickie with narrowed rear for tubbed rear fenders. Rear end is a Li'l John independent from a 34 Coupe - that horrible out of scale thing that Revell did by shrinking a 34 body to fit a Model T chassis. 1 1
bill-e-boy Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Getting chassis assembled. Front wheels need help in keeping them in alignment. I used Revell glue on wheels as it is slower drying as this allows you time to get the wheels aligned. The chassis is on an offcut of sheet metal with some magnets used to keep the wheels in place. I did not have any issues with the rear wheels. Now up on all fours The front spreader bar is some 2mm stainless steel filler wire polished and cut to length. I had drilled the holes for this in the chassis prep stage The photo shows wheels a bit wobbly but I think the phone camera does that Side shot I am working on completing body work and have some paint on the guards and other smaller body parts. Waiting while paint cures Thanks for looking 8

Can't wait to see what you've done....even small points of progress count.....TB Thanks, Tim for the nudge. I’ve been kind of sidetracked on a couple of other projects, including putting together my clubs newsletter for our Model Car Fest coming this March in the Portland Oregon area. Here’s what I’ve got so far. This is my second attempt: the roof is chopped. The frame is modified. The suspension is all ready to go. I’m stuck on putting a good vintage engine (either a Y-Block or a kit bashed early HEMI). The gas has been relocated but where do I put the filler cap. I hope to circle back onto this very soon. It’s taking on a rolling bones style build somewhat. 8

Speedpro Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Awhile back I put my '32 on the back burner and spent some time building and working on a few other projects. A couple weeks back I pulled the '32 back out and have been working on getting it in primer. Alot of the small imperfections have been fin tuned but there is still more to do. Here is a few picks of it's progress. As you can see, things are getting close to paint. I am trying to build this thing more or less with the parts that are in the box at this point. Spent alot of time trying to figure out "What can I do" and just found it easier this way. Its a great kit, don't mess with it, just modify it! The blower and rear end extension are the only added parts so far. The engine is being built with the kit parts and will be using the blower from the nova gasser kit. The interior..................I don't know. Haven't got that far in my head. Thanks for looking and more to come........... 7
bill-e-boy Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Looking good Paul. I love your attention to detail which ends up as looking like it should be there and not an obvious add on or afterthought. The example is the altered hood sides due to the body being channeled. Once painted the underlying work will disappear and will look like it came in the box that way. The ultimate deception. 1

I would love to see an absolutely "Box Stock" build parked next to this beauty!! The total "BEFORE" & "AFTER" views would be so revealing; so astoundingly different; so absolutely mind-blowing and yet, so much alike some could not describe the subtle modifications. Take for instance the Model A influences both over the front of the greenhouse and in place of the rear lite minus the belt line and extended bustle; the channel; the chop and the hole blowen through the hood! (OK the last is rather obvious!) Let alone widening the rear fenders; smoothing out the running boards; chopping/sectioning the grille shell; and then integrating the apron into the bottom of the grille shell between the front fenders. Now, go back and see if you can find the differences!?. -KK 2 1

Alot of the mods that I do are what I call the 2-3 inch rule. Just change things enough to make a person look twice. I think it gives a little character to the build. And I want to say, your '32 is pretty impressive. Just the right amount of this and that. Well done sir. 2
bill-e-boy Posted February 16 Posted February 16 And a little off topic but relevant. Pix of a 32 Cabrolet with a similar tasteful roof line treatment that Speedpro has given to his sedan. Pix is from a car show in a little town about 30km from where I live 4
Speedpro Posted February 18 Posted February 18 So I have yet another little mod that I want to do. As I was reviewing the pictures of the front of the car, I couldn't help but think that it just looks like it needs to loose some weight (make it look thinner). And also noticed how far the front tires are in under the fender. So what I am thinking is, why not remove a wedge cut from the center of the fenders right down through the running boards. Not a whole lot, maybe around .060 at the big end and going to the thickness of the blade at the end of the running boards. Both fenders have been taped off and are ready to see the blade. I'v got a lot of time in these fenders. I hope I don't mess this up, I don't want to build another set. When the parts are glued back together, only CA glue will be used to fill the gaps. You can see the gaps that are being filled. Not just the top side, but the bottom too. Glue, sand, glue, sand for a while. Still have to fix the left rear fender darn it. Things happen. More to come................. 4
bill-e-boy Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Thats a bold move Paul. It's going to look cool too 1 1
Speedpro Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) Thought I would show the results of taking a wedge cut out of the front fenders. Not sure if it was worth doing, but there is a small change. And I'm glad I'm not building new fenders. That's it for now. Edited February 22 by Speedpro 2
