thebavarian Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 This kit is from Revell 1/25 scale. After my Charger was finished in the Race version, I continued straight away with the Factory Stock version. I usually paint the body first because that's the biggest thrill for me, making sure nothing goes wrong. I also have a second engine with an engine stand. I want to upgrade this again with metal parts and ignition cables. I just ordered the parts for this engine from Mr.Model in Brazil. A new chrome color for me should arrive in the next few days. This is Super Chrome from AK. I'm curious to see how this can be processed. I completed the engine for the compartment in the car on this weekend. The decal for the air filter was a disaster. Despite warm water, decal set and sol and using a hairdryer, it cracked when applied. The stripes over the rear, on the other hand, were quite easy to apply (seen for this kit). 5

"A new chrome color for me should arrive in the next few days. This is Super Chrome from AK. I'm curious to see how this can be processed." After using Alclad for years - I tried AK super chrome, it is very good. It will brush on small parts but it is excellent airbrushed. I haven't tried the Revell chrome in the spray can, from what I've read it is even better...but expensive. 1
thebavarian Posted May 31, 2024 Author Posted May 31, 2024 (edited) @SpeedShift the Super Chrome from AK is really good to spray. I brushed the first parts with my airgun. The last 2 evenings I applied the bare metal foil for the window frames and used Molotow chrom pens for the lines at the rear of the car. The rear bumper is painted with Exreme Chrom. At the picture the shiny surface is not so good to see than in the reality. The exhaust pipes are bad. Square, the end not open and at both sides signs from the mold. I opened them with a round motorized cutter and painted them in chrome and black inside. Now I have a choice between 3 different rims and wether I should use the red stripes on wheels. The right ones are similar to the rims of my Mustang Boss 351 from Revell (a new kit I bought today). I think I prefer the middle rims with the red stripes and paint the wheel caps in a not so shiny chrome. What do you mean? Edited May 31, 2024 by thebavarian 3

Painted the wheels and bumpers on my Ram 50 with it.
thebavarian Posted June 3, 2024 Author Posted June 3, 2024 I did some small steps forward: -the sidewalls of the interieur are ready -the dashboard and the steering wheel in wood look -photoetched sun visors with a mirror made of bare metal foil -the rims with aluminium tire air valves from MrModel. They are good to see in painted rims. I sanded the tread of the wheels with a rough sanding stick and the sidewalls with a fine one. I think that looks realistic. Now I have to apply the red decals strips to the wheels 4
thebavarian Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 Now it went a lot further. The interior is finished and the axles/chassis are installed. A big challenge was assembling and painting the grill from a total of 6 etched parts. The carburettor and air filter were shortened so that the hood closes. The taillights also had to be re-chromed because there were up to 3 sprues per light on the rear edge. Now there are still a few parts missing in the engine compartment and some etched parts for the exterior design. The pulleys for the second engine are currently on their way to me from Brazil. 6
Nicholas Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Very nice! I missed the color what color is it? And who’s paint? 1
espo Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Great looking chrome foil and the interior trimming all looks very realistic. 1
thebavarian Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 @Nicholas I looked for a color in the car accessories store that was close to the one at the kit box. It is a can from Motip with the color number 51300 1
TNT Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Looks great. Good choice on the color. I like seeing builds with the more rare factory colors. Nothing wrong with the purples n oranges n such but we seem to have a tendency to use the popular colors. And i get that lord knows i still do it. 2
thebavarian Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 My parts from mrmodel finally got through customs and arrived yesterday. When there's time again and at my workbench is a little more space, I'll move on to the engine. My complete order The engine and my new parts for it The Charger is nearly ready, but the weather is fine and so I`m not in my basement for modelling 4
Speedpro Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Thats some nice crisp clean work. The paint must look really good in person. I have done brown paint, and it is really hard to look good in a photo. Very nice! 1
thebavarian Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 Now I begin the wireing of the engine. The ignition cables have the correct firing order in the distributor. 2
thebavarian Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Now, the car ist ready. There a 2 pictures from the engine before installing the air cleaner. 1968 Dodge Charger from Revell. More pictures in the category "Under Glass" 4
