While at first these 2 dont look too mean, during the 60s thru to the mid 80s if you saw these 2 being driven fast, theres an extremely high probability theres just been a bank robbery and about to be a vehicle fire. So being the gangsters favourites must qualify them as mean faced. only the petrol transit qualifies though, the diesel was a bit of a dog but ford gave them a different front so you didn't steal the wrong van

every band had one of these, it was the reason british bands started using larger drum sets on tour

When I was a real little kid, our neighbor had a '59 Buick. Whenever he parked it in the street, I refused to go out and play!

I sometimes wonder why Mr. King didn't make 'Christine' a '59 Buick...... A lot more menacing looking! I guess the name 'Fury' was better suited....

For me, "mean" has a couple of different connotations.

It can mean "angry" looking as many in this thread are thinking, in which case my opinion is that the '59 Buick fits the bill perfectly.

Or it can mean, as I think Ron is implying, "aggressive" looking.

I think that the '69 Dodge Coronet not only exhibits a very aggressive, all business looking, muscle car character, but it also has a considerably angry disposition.

A '61 Fury would have been better than a '57...more evil/deranged looking, IMO.

A lot of his books featured Plymouths. I believe it was a '47 that was mentioned a few times in Rita Hayworth & The Shawshank Redemption.

Having said that, Buicks are common in his books too. He even has a a book called "From A Buick 8."

The new Mustang Dark Horse, and the new Mustang GTD are both angry looking.

And you can't forget this. Like the unexpected villain in a horror film, you just know this car is about to unleash some serious stuff.

Looks way more "surprised" than "angry" or "mean".  :D
