Bob, if you use postimage.org, which is free and very easy to use, it will automatically make your picture the correct size for forums. I'm not sure which posting site you are using.  But you might want to give it a try. Very easy peasy.

Thanks, when I get time I will look at it.

Hopefully more NASCAR and circle track models will be posted here since Randy’s fourm will be gone soon.

FB spreading its tentacles into the general modelling arena like Spectre in a Bond film.

What's the big attraction of Facebook?

I was a user of a site named Friends Reunited years ago and contacted old school and work friends through it as you could go to your old school of workplace on it to see who is there. Made contact with a lot of old friends through it. Gradually it lost out to FB like Randy's site I guess. Personally I find FB a bit of a pain as rather than go to an old school of workplace listing you have to put a name in and sort through shed loads of people all over the world with the same name. The Friends Reunited site was better for finding old school friends and workmates by the way it was set up. And also when I looked at the old school site, someone else I knew often registered since the last time I looked.

I ditched FB 5 years ago due to family issues, politics bickering I needed to avoid. So this is it for me. I'll likely keep posting my stock car builds here and only here.

@bobss396  Yeah - this place is the place to be.  If the site doesn't host the photos you end up in the old photobucket hosting debacle.  And facebook is, well, facebook.

Hoping to see a lot more NASCAR content here - especially the old school builds!

I will never have a facebook account. Even though I don't know Zuckerberg personally, I don't like his views nor the damage that he and his company have done to our youth and society. I don't knowingly support anyone or company that goes against my traditional, old school views and values. That said, I'm a live and let live kinda guy. If someone wants fb, have at it.

For me, I like it just fine here and at Tom Birky's short track forum.

I'll certainly miss the Nascar forum.  I'm not a prolific builder by any means, but I appreciate the assistance I've gotten there, and I really love seeing the builds there.

That reminds me, I have a Fireball Roberts '57 Chevy to finish ...

It's gone now. Went to check in a few minutes ago, everything is gone except for a message that reads "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later." The guy that owned it took his ball and went to farcebook.

Yup, officially gone. I'm really comfortable with this forum and the Short Track forum so we shall all move on and as the guy on a movie about seven-gun fighters said, we don't need no stinking badges, I mean , facebook forums.

You only have to look on the IPMS UK Forum to see how users have broken away and are probably now on FB groups looking at how old some of the last thread responses are.  IPMS USA Forum seems to be much more frequently used though, but I expect they have lost quite a number of forum users as well too.

Ah well, I guess that we will see more social media sites that people will gravitate to instead of more controlled forums like this one and otners. Social media sites give me the impression of being like the Wild West as far as integrity and personal security  is concerned.

In my last FB days in 2019, I found it very tough to navigate and find things again. It could be overwhelming. I have family that LIVES on FB, take a good poop... post it on FB.

Everyone on Randy's forum were great. I was a Hobby Heaven member for a while, but found it way too easy to get into fights with members. Someone always had a chip on their shoulder. I said adios to that around 2012.

Got the movie wrong. It was the Treasure of the Sierra Madres. But the point is, we don't need no stinking Facebook forums.

Reported today Facebook is using your personal data to train Meta in AI......note...NOT selling your info but feeding ALL your info into a AI database. This is who you are dealing with if you use any Meta product.  Meta not breaking the law.....just bending it.

I saw it like this... EVERYONE wants you on it and to be active on it. A major red flag to me.

Hard heck no for me too.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the meta/AI thing, but please bare with me. Other than my beautiful wife and kids, bass fishing and building models are my thing. My wife does go out on the boat with me from time to time and we do talk about fishing and modeling sometimes. I use an android, no farcebook. She has an iPhone and has farcebook (for now). Every time we talk about models or bass fishing she gets blasted with ad's. Happened again last night. Before going to sleep, I mentioned that I went to a new tackle shop yesterday. This morning there ad's for reels and crankbaits on her fb! How in the world does this happen? As it doesn't happen to me (android, no fb), doesn't happen to the kids (iPhone, no fb), I'm left to believe that it's an fb thing. We don't have an Alexa or anything like that. I can turn a light switch on or off.

You have to turn the microphone off on the phone. That's what I did, but it limits other things your phone can do too. Your phone spys on you and so do the new smart tv's. Never hook those things up to the net. They also have a built-in camera in the tv too. There's a lot of stuff spying on us these days and most don't even know it. One more reason they want to get rid of china owned tik tok. You don't think they would spy on us do ya?

We have a UK programme on TV where teams of two pursued are by hunters who stay in contact with a control centre with high tech tracking means. They have to reach a certain destination by staying underneath the radar within a certain time to claim a very large cash prize.  All to often they get caught out by slipping up using what appears to be the obvious.  Mobile (cell) phones, Pay phones (if there are any left these days), Getting lifts in modern cars that now have built in trackers, using bank debit or credit cards, stopping at a known relative or friend's place and of course CCTV cameras. with face recognition tech.

It really shows up how tech can trace your whereabouts and what surprises me is the sheer volume of it tracking our every move.  So quite a challenge to those taking part.

Those 'helpful' domestic voice recognition devices to control home items are also listening and recording remotely what you are saying. Ever wonder why one gets bombarded with targeted ads? It is not coincidence.

Cyberdyne Systems T1000 anyone?

In addition to farcebook, don't have tic tok either. We have a smart TV, but it's not hooked up to the net. I'll tell my wife about the microphone thing. Thank you
