For Your Eyes Only (Details we've added to our builds that we know no one will ever see)

Here's a couple more....the roll bar detail in Bumblebee, especially since there's a set of louvers on the rear window.

The Shooting Brake Camaro....I made a rear package area with carpet, never to be seen through the narrow rear window.

So dig out all those hidden details, post 'em up and have some fun!

David, @Steve H let me know about your thread - it's a great idea!  I see lots of cool details posted by automotive builders, so hoping a few hidden items on my plow truck build will fit in with the theme.  Lots of hydraulic lines, a diverter valve, and electrical connections in rear cross member will be hidden once the sand hopper is attached to the frame.  Also won't be able to see much of the scratch built AC condenser or the transmission cooler mounted on front of rad, which will end up behind the grille.  I also added in the under cab supports for the floor pan, with wiring runs, which will almost certainly never be seen!

Thanks for starting this thread, David - got some ideas for future builds going round in my head!

Wow @Steve H !

An in-dash factory installed 8-track?!  😮  Those are super rare in those Sixties Oldsmobiles!

;)

Excellent details all!

Thanks for taking the time to post this Steve.

Those are some fabulous added features @BK9300!

I can only imagine the extra time and effort it took to build and install all that!  😮

Very cool! Thanks for posting it.

Nice work on the carpet @64SS350 !

I have such a difficult time getting good results like that, that I almost never do carpet any more.

It's a shame that, most likely nobody will ever see it again.

Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you, I used an old can of testors enamel, which takes a 'minute' to dry. Sprinkled from a salt shaker or you can use a tea strainer.

Oh yeah, enamel paint. I normally avoid it just for that reason.

Now I'll have to give it a try just because of that reason.

Great idea Karl!

I'll have to play around with some enamel paint with flocking and embossing powder to see if I can develop a workable system for myself to use.

Thanks for that Karl.

Thought I update on my Impala details.. for my own sake only so to speak 🙂

btw, all carpets in this one are from a whey tissue that I washed before letting it dry and after gluing it in with white glue I painted it. Looks like the real deal to me. Builds a bit of thickness though.IMG_3596.jpeg.c875d8a63481d97e1d7a339c126fd9eb.jpegIMG_3602.jpeg.084ca3561531561e8aefdba7658a1ff8.jpegIMG_3603.jpeg.aa8a402511ff425141ab5d2c96074243.jpegIMG_3606.jpeg.58811743a35ec2369581e94a915e4a3d.jpeg

This is shaping up to be one fantastic build Anton.

I believe that all the little details we add, seen or unseen, contribute to the overall impression of realism. One of my little sayings is: "The mind still perceives what the eye cannot see."

BTW: I googled "whey tissue" because it's not a common term here in the States. All I found were references to sequestering cheese protein.  😆

My curiosity is getting the better of me, could you enlighten me please?
