mikemodeler Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Just read where Shapeways has shut down and filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
64SS350 Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 (edited) Well, at the end of quoted statement by the plant manager....they are gearing up for a restart on their own account....no further details were listed. Hopefully that happens and we can share any updates!! Edited July 3, 2024 by 64SS350
1st 700 Quad Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 That sucks because they had a lot of parts I needed for the 1/25th scale Futurliner.
rattle can man Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 thier website is still up and no statements about bankruptcy.
steveracer Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Do the parts come out of Europe or from the Livonia, MI facility in the US?
maxwell48098 Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I just received my last big order from them on 6/28. It came from Livonia and since I live in Troy, MI, normal delivery was always next day. I'll miss them and hope those who sold their products via Shapeways will find other outlets. A.J.
Scott Eriksen Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I received my Road Runner grille on Tuesday 7/2 ,,the day they shut down ,,,and yeah the website is still up

Mike This is way bigger than the normal bankruptcy case here's a good article on it,but as far as I understand it,there is no company left personnel wise. https://www.belloflostsouls.net/2024/07/shapeways-shuts-down-after-17-years-of-3d-printed-glory.html

TonyK Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Went to the Shapeways site just to see what's going on. Took forever to load any page. Looked at some figures and each page took minutes to load.
JS23U Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I tried a few minutes ago and the loading speed seems to be normal again.
Mr mopar Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I have been getting court papers for a class action lawsuit against Shapeway ,but they go in my shredder.....LOL !
Chris V Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Supposedly a reconstruction of the company is in the works: https://www.voxelmatters.com/shapeways-lives-again-as-manuevo-in-europe/
Richard Bartrop Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 I got my credit card company to block my payment to them. Someth ing to consider if you haven't done it already
Bugatti Fan Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Shapeways had listed a set of corrected wheels and tyres for the Heller Bugatti T50 kit. Anyone know who the originator of the 3D Cad files is? I guess that Shapeways worked as an intermediary producer from other people's designs to sell on their behalf? 1
