Noel & Helmut, thanks for the info on Motobitz. I have USCP wheels & tires coming in from SpotModel and look forward to see how they stack up.

Trevor, that DB4 looks great and I hope you'll share progress on the Aurora/Monogram kit. I want to build one too.

Andy, absolutely please post the interior pictures. I'm building this DB5 as a "mild" weekend racer and doing very little with the interior but I have this plan for an upcoming "more extreme" DB4 with a stripped interior, so these pics will be very useful.

the Astons - DB5 and DB4 that are raced in vintage events have Spec roll cages and modern racing seats and no rear seating - so this would be fun for the next one -

Hello Pierre,

Beautiful craftsmanship as always from your bench!!!

I too have purchased the DB 5 w/t sets from USCP.  They compare well to the quality of Jacks products...

some pics...

Anyway - I'd like to see your take on Aston Martin racing green ...

Well... I do have this Aurora DB4 kit on the way. Definitely gonna go to a more agressive type race car. And this one was my attempt at Aston racing green...not a success...?

Randy

These look fantastic. Design wise they look more correct than Jason's Jag wheels so that's why I too went with USCP

Pierre, how you get your finish on the interior and the frame of your builds is amazing. The seats look like leather and the dash looks like a real dash and the guages look like real guages. Seat and shoulder belts look perfect too. The exhaust pipes look like they are real metal not painted plastic. Clean, clean, clean.

Thanks Mark. The kit is rather basic and low part count so I use the old brush to create finishes and textures to add a bit of visual interest and perhaps a bit more realism. Vallejo paints are the secret sauce here and react well to a variety of brushing techniques.

I too really like the Vallejo paints. I just can't get the results you get with them. But I can usually get the color I want by mixing them being that they are small dropper bottles instead of small jars with twist caps.

Randy, are the USCP wire wheels designed to take the Revell tyres? They look really impressive in the posted photo. Or have USCP made the wheels the correct width and supply separate tyres of the correct size too?

Helmut, I believe that the Motobitz wires for the E Type Jaguar that I mentioned  have the tyres moulded integrally as part of the 3D print to correct the wheels and tyres from the Revell kit that are far too wide for that car.

Looking awesome, Pierre. I have had good luck with the deco color paint pen as well. After it dry's, it holds up better than the molotow achohol chrome pen does. It almost seems like it never drys and if you touch it accidently it dulls terribly. The deco color pen does not.

Absolutely agree friend. I got the pen after you did your comparison testing work and finally got to use it. I just followed your lead.

Thanks, Pierre. I had forgotten all about that. I actually was surprised when I saw you using the Deco pen. Glad it worked out for you because it is the perfect solution for really thin mouldings around glass that there is no way you could mask and paint. You just have to have a steady hand like you have.

A really lovely finished model. Those Ukranian wire wheels and tyres look really good to finish off the model.

Pierre. Did you print the decals for the model yourself?

If not I am looking for who makes decals that are in the same style of just the numerals that you used for the racing number for a different project of my own.

Looks Awesome, Pierre. Let us know when it's in the showroom or whatever they call it here. I always enjoy your presentation with the backup photos.

Great looking build with a special cudo for the interior - looks amazing, in my opinion!

Thank you Brian. I am not a fan of the kit but I love the DB5

I did not print them. Check out 50's Indy decals at Indycal for something different from the usual black on white racing numbers.
