slusher Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 How about doing a pinto hatch back or a Volkswagen bettle..
Doug 1061 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Maybe a Toyota Celica from early 70s. Or a Datsun 510

slowbird Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I don't think there's a kit of this, but the Wartburg 311. My friend built this gasser out of one. It's got some nice 50s-type styling that could maybe be kitbashed out of various American cars.
stavanzer Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 The Revell BRE Datsun 510 would be a cool small car to use.
Horrorshow Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 James Bond would look cool driving an Aston Martin gasser. 1
rattle can man Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 A Morris Minor or Traveler? definitely would have the '50s vibe.

That would make a pretty sharp looking Gasser NIck. 21 hours ago, stavanzer said: The Revell BRE Datsun 510 would be a cool small car to use. Nice idea on the Datsun 510. 21 hours ago, stitchdup said: nothing is too small I like that body style. 9 hours ago, Horrorshow said: James Bond would look cool driving an Aston Martin gasser. Yeah, James Bond looked kewl in whatever he drove.
Reegs Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 (edited) 1965 Rules (and other years before purpose-built frames were allowed): Wheelbase: All Gas Coupes/Sedans, Supercharged Gas Coupes/Sedans must retain stock wheelbase length and tread width for the type of car body used. Minimum wheelbase length is 92 inches. All 1948 to 1953 English Fords, Anglia series, although not meeting minimum wheelbase requirements are accepted for competition in Gas Coupes/Sedans classes. Ruling applies only if entry meets all other class regulations and requirements. Engine installations are restricted to small-block Chevys or equivalents: i.e., 265, 283, 327, etc. Larger basic blocks not accepted. Superchargers not permitted. Wheelbase must remain stock. Thank's for the info Jim.
Zippi Posted August 31, 2024 Author Posted August 31, 2024 Fellows....this is what I'm interested in building. Something down these lines with a Big ole blown engine sticking way out of the business end and some Big ole meats tucked up under the body. I just think these looks so kewl.

Based on that I think a 3D print is your only option. Maybe someone will print this for you. I printed the second pic for a future gasser build from the same seller. Edited August 31, 2024 by MeatMan

rattle can man Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 I've been looking for a photo but I'm having issues finding my files of car shows. Around 10 years ago I went to the KKOA Salina show and saw a blown Big block Ford powered Nash Rambler. barely enough room between the slicks for a rearend. the whole car shook when he revved it.
rattle can man Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Oops. I meant Metropolitan, Yellow and white.

Reegs Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 You don't get into those cars. You wear them.
